We are waiting to see what happens.
The automotive industry is already bracing for this one. One year after it passed (2021) but was vetoed by Gov. Inslee, the state Democrat-controlled legislature passed a bill (2022) that if signed by Inslee, will ban sales of new gas-powered vehicles in our state after 2030.
Autoweek took a look at the legislation a few days ago. The bill would ban the sale of new light-duty cars, SUVs, trucks, vans, etc. after 2030. It would allow continued sales of vehicles 10,000lbs. and up, and also allow emergency vehicles.
The reason last year's bill died, according to Autoweek:
"The previous effort, which stalled this time last year after passing 54-43 in the state House and 25-23 in the state Senate, was contingent upon 75% of the vehicles in the state entering into a road usage charge scheme that would replace the gasoline tax."
**SNIP**
However, according to Edmunds, the car experts, the average price (as of February) for an all-electric vehicle in the US was just over $60,000, which is a price that many, it not most Americans cannot afford. To read more on this legislation with this very good article from Autoweek, click here.

I think he should sign the bill, basically put into overdrive the destruction of the state and enrich car dealerships on the state lines.
Hey it’s definitely one way to get rid of Democrats high gas prices crisis!
Deep State channeling their inner Marie Antoinette.
The 2020’s version: Let them drive EVs.
Deep State really doesn’t want the red bits driving, do they...
Can’t see how this has any legal standing.
This won’t make a difference since the world is supposed to end by then...
The legal system is no longer legal, and is extremely capricious. I have very little faith in it.
Legal standing...
I think that ship sailed January 6, 2021.
With all them hills and mountains, good luck with charging stations, etc........../s
No more blood pressure medication sales after 2030.
The site where the article is located was too busy and I couldn’t read it. However, the posters who said the residents would simply buy cars at the borders haven’t dealt with state laws. I guarantee the state thought of that. Also, I’m certain local auto associations run by dealers probably pointed that out. Therefore, the law will almost certainly not allow a newer vehicle to be registered. So, there will be no new vehicles sold or registered in the state. I think it may take a while, but people will realize they have to change the government if the government won’t change the law. The Democrats have signed the death warrant for their pet electric car project even if they do stay in power. There will be some growth in electric vehicle sales, so they’ll declare victory and move on to making 100% of schoolboys into schoolgirls and legalizing pedophilia.

It’s not enough for the government to financially rape you to force you to to buy a $60K electric vehicle, they will then rape you again with a road use tax having destroyed all gas powered vehicles.
Left unobstructed, democrats destroy everything they control.
The next step would be to outlaw the registration of any out-of-state gas-powered vehicle.

Good one!!!
Found on the used market. Pretty good mpg.

They MAY allow you to bring your gas car in if you’re moving into Washington State, but that will be it. If you currently live in Washington State or have lived there in the past 5 years (or something like that), you’re out of luck.
While politicians may allow you to show scam the system to vote out of state, as in Georgia, they DO NOT allow such when their primary goal is screwing over people.
Idaho auto dealers are rubbing their hands: "yes, yes!"
