I think he should sign the bill, basically put into overdrive the destruction of the state and enrich car dealerships on the state lines.

Deep State channeling their inner Marie Antoinette.

The 2020’s version: Let them drive EVs.

Can’t see how this has any legal standing.

The site where the article is located was too busy and I couldn’t read it. However, the posters who said the residents would simply buy cars at the borders haven’t dealt with state laws. I guarantee the state thought of that. Also, I’m certain local auto associations run by dealers probably pointed that out. Therefore, the law will almost certainly not allow a newer vehicle to be registered. So, there will be no new vehicles sold or registered in the state. I think it may take a while, but people will realize they have to change the government if the government won’t change the law. The Democrats have signed the death warrant for their pet electric car project even if they do stay in power. There will be some growth in electric vehicle sales, so they’ll declare victory and move on to making 100% of schoolboys into schoolgirls and legalizing pedophilia.

“The previous effort, which stalled this time last year after passing 54-43 in the state House and 25-23 in the state Senate, was contingent upon 75% of the vehicles in the state entering into a road usage charge scheme that would replace the gasoline tax.”

It’s not enough for the government to financially rape you to force you to to buy a $60K electric vehicle, they will then rape you again with a road use tax having destroyed all gas powered vehicles.

Left unobstructed, democrats destroy everything they control.

...also allow emergency vehicles.

Found on the used market. Pretty good mpg.

"Car dealership on the border."

Idaho auto dealers are rubbing their hands: "yes, yes!"

The saddest aspect of this story is that Inslee is a true “climate change” believer, proving he has the intellectual acuity of a dust-bunny. My sincere apologies to dust-bunnies everywhere for that disparaging comparison. Mea culpa.
Car batteries require one of the most toxic and polluting manufacturing processes ever deployed on planet earth.
And batteries require electricity for charging - mostly generated (here in Washington state) by hydroelectric means while the green-weenies work tirelessly to decommission and remove dams to save salmon while they also work to shut down fish farms.
Show me a green-weenie, and I’ll show you a hypocritical imbecile.

The used car market will explode as will the need for mechanics. Washington state will look like Cuba with all those vintage cars on the streets.

To take the logic to it’s conclusion... ban the sale of gasoline powered vehicles in the state, then not allow them to be registered, and then ban the sale of gasoline.

Not offering an opinion, just merely a thought experiment.

However, it doesn’t prohibit diesel as far as I can tell.

I bet you won’t be able to register a gas car in WA after that date.

That will work for a year or two. Then you won’t be allowed to bring a gasoline car in from out of state and register it in WA. Then the gasoline stations will start closing. Then people won’t want to visit WA or risk driving through it.

It won’t be workable unless OR and CA join in which will happen in short order.

If you bough a new car out of state, The state could not license the vehicles in WA. One would have to maintain a residence in another state. Even then, law enforcement will pick up on you driving around with out of state plates past the 30 day grace period. Happened to me in WA. Got pulled over soon after day 30.

If the United States of America survives those within her that hate her and want to destroy her. It will be a miracle. Under the leadership of Lying Joe Biden, the choice of the People. The Democrats have almost succeeded. His new supreme Court nominee should finish nailing the lid shut on her coffin. Evil will abound. Confusion will reign. Evil will be considered good. Good will be bad. .... But that is what the people replaced President Trump with and for./p>

Impoverish us and leave us with no options but to buy an electric car. That may be impossible since we rely on countries who we have totaly alienated.

The truth is they know we can’t afford them and slaves aren’t supposed to have a car.
