My wife and I are having an argument. When she makes me a hamburger she insists on putting mayo on it. So we got into an argument over the proper condiments for hamburgers and hotdogs.
She insists on ketchup on her hotdogs. Mayo on her burgers. Mayo on hotdogs.
I believe ketchup has no business being on a dog (should be only some form of mustard) and hamburgers can get ketchup+mustard, but not mayo. Mayo is only for deli type sandwiches.
Opinions please.

Burgers: Big and fat, onion buns browned in drippings with cheddar cheeze, mayo, mustard, catsup, tomatoes, lettuce, onions & pickles.
Or monterey jack cheese, mayo & jalapeno peppers.
Hot dogs: Mayo, mustard, ketchup, relish, onions & tomatoes with all beef or kosher franks.

The way to dress a hot dog: 1) put a layer of drained, crushed pineapple on the bun, 2) put finely chopped onions atop the pineapple, 3) put the hot dog atop the pineapple and onions, 4) put BBQ sauce atop the hot dog, 5) sprinkle Fritos atop the BBQ sauce.

Actually, now that I re-read what I wrote, I appreciate your taking it well...I forgot to put my LOL and smiley face. I sounded just a tad nasty, didn’t I? Sorry ‘bout that.

Good Golly! The hard-hitting questions just keep coming today!
Hotdog: Why bother? I can’t stand ‘em. I’ll have a GRILLED bratwurst on a sturdy bun with KETCHUP and gobs of chopped, sweet onion. A variation would be brown mustard & pickle relish and a lesser amount of onion.
Hamburger: Swiss Cheese, yellow mustard and gobs of pepper. One variation would be no cheese, a slice of red onion and sour cream. Another would be Sharp Cheddar Cheese, ketchup and Mayo.
Mayo on the side for french fry dipping. Ketchup would be my second choice.
There. That settles it once and for all. Right? LOL!

Tomatoes, lettuce, onions, etc not included. Just the sauces themselves (ketchup, mayo, mustard)
Sorry. I cant help but break the rules.
Hamburger grilled ground sirloin, lightly toasted onion or Kaiser roll, thick slice of beefsteak tomato and Vidalia onion, with or without cheddar or blue cheese and with Mayo. Definitely Mayo
Hot dog all beef (preferably Nathans) on a potato hot dog roll, chopped onion, sauerkraut and real deli mustard (not that icky yellow stuff). Definitely mustard.
Ketchup? Thats what you put on fries when you cant get them smothered in chili and cheese.

Yup, that’s a good ol’ Chicago dog, no ketchup allowed!

When she makes me a hamburger she insists on putting mayo on it. On the one hand, she shouldn't "insist" that you have your burger the way SHE likes it. On the other hand, she IS making YOU the burger. You could make your own burger if you don't like how she makes it. So...I am torn on this.

Have you ever tried Mayo, Mustard and Katsup on a peanut butter sandwich? Onions are optional...

Brats should only have onions and should be served on a hard roll. Both Brats and onions should be cooked in beer before grilling. What can I say I’m originally from Sheboygan.AWB

I’m a mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles person for hamburgers
and a mustard only person for hotdogs. My older two love ketchup on hotdogs.
To: Domandred
I agree with you, ketchup doesn’t belong on hot dogs. But I don’t like ketchup anyway.
To: Domandred
Hot dogs: Yellow mustard, onions, cucumber and tomato. If you haven't tried cucumber try it before you go "ewwwww"!
Hamburger: Cheese, yellow mustard, raw onion and tomato.
Anything else is a waste.

I like burgers and dogs that OP assembled, so I’ll try one you make and then try one your wife makes, and then for everyone else here. If this plan works, I should be well fed for a good period of time.
