LOL!
I'll give it a shot.
I'm on my way to bed at the moment.
Thankfully I did write down what my muse had said to me.

Is it odd that my muse usually strikes by audibly speaking to me?

KITTENS LIMERICK

There was a Lady, who kept in a shoebox her mittens,
Tigress the Cat chose it, as new home for the kittens,
The small striped balls of fur leaped inside,
And happily played the cat-catch-and-hide,
The Lady, surprised, found her mittens full of kittens.

My days have been busy.

It was a lovely day here today; I pulled some weeds while Marissa played in the dirt. She made a strawberry cake. LOL

TIGRESS, THE WISE.

Tigress, the Cat is a very wise lady.
Wants to keep her kindle busy in places shady.
Warm and together, playing away from the weather.
Lest the Big Lady seethe.
When the kittens use her high heels of leather.
To scratch and teethe.

Jack.

Just want to submit a poem. Constructive criticism is always appreciated. :)

The Trees of Eventide Forest
by Sarah P. (aka 4mycountry)

The trees of Eventide forest
Are like no other trees.
They hold within their intertwined arms
A strange and glorious paradise;
A sanctuary guarded by soldiers of wood.
You cannot see it from the outside
And it requires strength and a steadfast heart
To make the soldiers let you pass.

But the trees of Eventide forest
Are fare and kind to those who try.
Those that make it past the soldiers
Will find their time well spent,
And their efforts not in vain.
The treasure of Eventide forest
Is a garden of light, and green, soft grass.
…And the birds sing sweeter there as well.

The trees of Eventide forest
Tell stories to those that sit at their feet.
Stories of fairies, magic, and songs
Sung hundreds of years before our time.
Their stories are better than any novel made by man.
The words of the Eventide trees are written
By the light that dances through their emerald leaves,
And their voice is carried on the wind's breath.

If you should visit the trees of Eventide forest,
Try as hard as you can to make it past the soldiers of wood.
Because, as you will see…
The trees of Eventide forest are like no other trees.
They are kind and fair to those who try to pass.
And those that make it past will find their time well spent and their efforts not in vain.
The trees of Eventide forest tell stories to those that sit at their feet,
And their stories are better than any novel made by man.

"Thank you for the limericks. They are always fun."

You're welcome. Edward Lear is funny as hell, always a great read.

Edward Lear (1812-1888)

The Owl and the Pussy-Cat

The Owl and the Pussy-Cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat:
They took some honey, and plenty of money
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy, O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!

....

;-)

The limerick packs laughs anatomical
Into space that is quite economical.
But the good ones I've seen
So seldom are clean
And the clean ones so seldom are comical.

I enjoyed your poem. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I'm not a poet so I would not be one to try to give constructive criticism.

I'm pinging some others to your poem.

My old tennis shoe had the cat’s head full in,
Like an idiot wiping his chin,
When he came up for air,
What an image was there!
My cat had the goofiest grin.
