The Price to Pay

We have a journey coming. The path is marked for you.
You’ve all received instructions in the things you have to do.
Don’t worry about the payment. Your fare’s been paid in full.
It took a little influence, but we know Someone with pull.

You may have had a chance sometime, to give some kids a ride.
I’m sure it made you feel real good, somewhere deep inside.
How generous could you have been to pay the price in pain?
Could you have had the courage to go back again and again?

A million times? A billion? Ten billion ... even more?
We can’t conceive the suffering, or the purpose it was for.
The passage has been paid for us, but something’s still not fair.
You still owe a debt of gratitude that can’t be paid by prayer.

You can pay this debt to others who may need something from you,
Pay it forward, if you will, when you see that it’s come due.
The ones who need are needy. Some even carry signs.
Be careful though to choose your path, there are so many lines.

Do not fall prey to giving, just for the giving’s sake.
The proper way to lend your help will give your back an ache.
And blisters could show up on those oh-so-soft hands you have,
Be comforted that where you’re bound, there will be healing salve.

LOL

He slept inside all afternoon. In case he wants a nightlite, I even left the patio lights on for him.

I know he will spend much of tomorrow inside unless we spend lots of time outside with him.

God Bless America.
Land that I love
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America
My home sweet home.

God Bless America,
Land that I love
Stand beside her,
And guide her,
Through the night
With the light from above,
From the mountains,
To the prairies,
To the ocean,
White with foam,
God bless America,
My home sweet home.
God bless America,
My home sweet home

To: JustAmy; yall
Mary Jo Kopechne

Those young voters don't know how Miss Kopechne, trapped inside Kennedy's Oldsmobile, gasped for air until she finally died, while the Democrats' leading Iraq war critic rushed back to his compound to formulate the best alibi he could think of.

Neither does Generation X know how Kennedy was thrown out of Harvard on his ear 15 years earlier -- for paying a fellow student to take his Spanish final. Or why the US Army denied him a commission because he cheated on tests.

As they listen to the Democrats' "Liberal Lion" accuse President Bush of "telling lie after lie after lie" to get America to go to war in Iraq, young voters don't know about that notorious 1991 Easter weekend in Palm Beach, when Uncle Teddy rounded up his nephews for a night on the town, an evening that ended with one of them credibly accused of rape.

It's time for Republicans to state unabashedly that they will no longer "go along with the gag" when it comes to Uncle Ted's rants about deception and moral turpitude inside the Bush White House. And if the Republicans don't, let's do it ourselves by passing this forgotten disgrace around the Internet to wake up memories of what a fraud and fake Teddy really is.

VisualOps, that is a beautiful job on the image. Really great.

I occasionally post on the prayer threads, etc. and was wondering if you would mind if I borrowed that for future posts ?

Apostrophe To The Ocean

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and the music in its roar;
I love not man the less, but nature more,
From these or interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the universe, and feel
What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal.

Roll on, thou deep and dark blue Ocean - roll!
Ten thousand fleets sweep over thee in vain;
Man marks the earth with ruin - his control
Stops with the shore - upon the watery plain
The wrecks are all thy deed, nor doth remain
A shadow of man' ravage, save his own,
When, for a moment, like a drop of rain,
He sinks into thy depths with a bubbling groan -
Without a grave, unknelled, uncoffined, and unknown.

His steps are not upon thy path - thy fields
Are not a spoil for him - thou dost arise
And shake him from thee; the vile strength he wields
For earth's destruction thou dost all despise,
Spurning him from thy bosom to the skies,
And send'st him, shivering in thy playful spray
And howling, to his gods, where haply lies
His petty hope in some near port or bay,
And dashest him again to earth; there let him lay.

The armaments which thunderstrike the walls
Of rock-built cities, bidding nations quake
And monarchs tremble in their capitals,
The oak leviathans, whose huge ribs make
Their clay creator the vain title take
Of lord of thee, and arbiter or war -
These are thy toys, and as the snowy flake,
They melt into thy yeast of waves, which mar
Alike the Armada's pride, or spoils or Trafalgar.

Thy shores are empires, changed in all save thee -
Assyria, Greece, Rome, Carthage, what are they?
Thy waters washed their power while they were free,
And many a tyrant since; their shores obey
The stranger, slave, or savage; their decay
Has dried up realms to deserts - not so thou,
Unchangeable save to thy wild waves' play.
Time writes no wrinkles on thine azure brow;
Such as creation's dawn beheld, thou rollest now.

Thou glorious mirror, where the Almighty's form
Glasses itself in tempest; in all time,
Calm or convulsed - in breeze, or gale, or storm,
Icing the pole, or in the torrid clime
Dark-heaving - boundless, endless, and sublime;
The image of eternity, the throne
Of the Invisible; even from out of thy slime
The monsters of the deep are made; each zone
Obeys thee: thou goest forth, dread, fathomless, alone.

And I have loved thee, Ocean! And my joy
Of youthful sports was on the breast to be
Borne, like thy bubbles, onward; from a boy
I wantoned with thy breakers - they to me
Were a delight; and if the freshening sea
Made them a terror - 'twas a pleasure to fear,
For I was as it were a child of thee,
And trusted to thy billows far and near,
And I laid my hand upon they mane - as I do here.

-- George Gordon Byron, Lord Byron (1788-1824)

Wow, it works great with the poem- excellent choice of typeface.
I knew Amy's Place would be a wonderful first showing of the image.
Bless you :)
