Did you hear that our friends, Peace Fresno, is in that movie?

GRRRRR ..... We are hoping to get a few extra Freepers for a Troop Rally on the 2nd. Peace Fresno only meets the first Friday of every month for their War Protests now.

Hi, Jen.

I'm going back to check on pings I didn't get answered. Sorry this isn't timely.

We can't get DSL; we are too far out in the boondocks. :)
We also have a satellite dish for our TV; We cannot get cable. I've had the satellite connection for about a year.

I think DSL is probably faster because they have the cables already there. Some day, maybe they will get cables out this far.

Uh-Oh!

I think I found my way into, a place I shouldn’t be.
The question that I have right now, what’s to become of me?
They haven’t started biting. What do they think is food?
Maybe they think that I’m a lost one of their brood.

How many of them are there? Where did they all come from?
I wonder what time’s dinner? When will my master come?
These fellas sure smell funny. I wonder where I am?
These puppies sure don’t look like me. How come they smell like ham?

You Know You Are Living in 2004 When....

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.
2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends is that they don't have e-mail addresses.
6. When you go home after a long day at work you still answer the phone in a business manner.
7. When you make phone calls from home, you accidentally dial "9" to get an outside line.
8. You've sat at the same desk for four years and worked for three different companies.
10. You learn about your redundancy on the 10 o'clock news.
11. Your boss doesn't have the ability to do your job.
12. Contractors outnumber permanent staff and are more likely to get long-service awards.
13. You read this entire list, and kept nodding and smiling.
14. As you read this list, you think about forwarding it to your "friends."
15. You got this email from a friend that never talks to you anymore, except to send you jokes from the net.
16. You are too busy to notice there was no #9
17. You actually looked back up to check that there wasn't a #9 AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself.

Kerry's Indian Name - Running Eagle

During a campaign tour of the Apache Nation a week ago Wednesday, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said he had a plan to increase every Native American's income by $40,000 a year. Senator Kerry refused repeated requests for details of his plan, however. He also told the Apaches that during his Senate career, he has voted "YES" 9,637 times for every Indian issue ever introduced.

Before his departure, the Apache Tribe presented the Presidential candidate a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name, Running Eagle.

After Kerry left, tribal officials explained that Running Eagle is a bird so full of crap it can't fly.

Fernando Tasca

Solitude

Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone.
For the sad old earth must borrow it's mirth,
But has trouble enough of it's own.
Sing, and the hills will answer;
Sigh, it is lost on the air.
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
But shrink from voicing care.

Rejoice, and men will seek you;
Grieve, and they turn and go.
They want full measure of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your woe.
Be glad, and your friends are many;
Be sad, and you lose them all.
There are none to decline your nectared wine,
But alone you must drink life's gall.

Feast, and your halls are crowded;
Fast, and the world goes by.
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,
But no man can help you die.
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a long and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain.

-- Ella Wheeler Wilcox (1850-1919)

>> Kerry's Indian Name - Running Eagle

That is a faulty translation. Correct is "eagle with the runs."

P.S. First message from a new computer out in the middle of a field, with a wonderful, wonderful dial-up connection. I'm told cable is available even in this remote field, so will have same installed as soon as possible.

Do you have anything exciting planned for this weekend?

hehe ! My weekend already got started off to a 'weird' start early this morning.

I got up, early as usual. But I couldn't find my glasses. I always lay them on the nightstand by the bed, but couldn't find them there or anywhere. Sometimes I fall asleep watching TV and maybe they fall off or I take them off during the night. But they were nowhere to be found. NOWHERE !

So I got up and fixed the coffee pot, figuring I'd find them momentarily - on the bed or on the floor by the bed or somewhere.

I came back into the bedroom and looked again. Imagine a(n almost) blind man looking for his glasses. That was me early this morning. By now, my computer is on and booted up. Well, I figured I'd open my I.E. to FR and my Word software while trying to figure out where my glasses had mysteriously disappeared to. I can barely make out enough detail to get everything opened up.

In the meantime, I recall that I have some OLD glasses put away in my bedroom - somewhere. Now Meekie is squint-eyed going through dresser drawers. FINALLY, I find my old DARK DARK sunglasses. Great ! Here it is 3:30 in the morning and I'm walking around the house doing my Ray Charles impersonation. So I turn on another light in my bedroom to help against the dark sunglasses. These were at LEAST two prescriptions back, so they aren't really right for my eyes today, but at least I can SEE well enough to make out some detail.

I look around the room again. No glasses. I get my flashlight out and look under the bed and under the nightstand. No glasses.

Dang ! What happened to my glasses ? Back to the computer, with my dark sunglasses on still. Get my I.E. set up and bring up my FR pinger, etc. Coffee's ready by now. Pour a cup.

Well, I'm Freeping away with my sunglasses on for a while and finally a light goes off in my head. Next to my nightstand is a small wastebasket. A few envelopes and papers in it, so I shuffle the papers around and there they were ! My glasses !! YAY !! They must have fallen in when I took my glasses off last night. OR .... I keep a glass of water on the nightstand and I knocked them off accidentally during the night.

Whoops ! Sorry for the long story here, lol !
