GREETINGS,

FOLLOWING is a note re todays Alaskan quake. First a comment about this thread.

SOME FREEPERS are fascinated with fringe areas of reality. Some of us even think the fringe areas of knowledge, research, anecdotal stories and the like will have very impactful effects on the WAR ON TERROR, WWIII, Biblical end time events etc.

WE ALSO FIND FREEPERS FULL OF GREAT CREATIVITY OF THOUGHT, INSIGHT, WORK RELATED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS ETC. useful in collecting diverse puzzle pieces and in analyzing them. This diversity is priceless and virtually unavailable on any other site.

While we are seriously interested in topics which others scoff at, throw tinfoil hat assaults at and which we often even can't discuss calmly with many of our relatives and friends--we are either not all loonies or not 100% looney--though perhaps, hopefully, healthily insane in an insane society a la Eric Fromm.

Nevertheless, we do NOT enjoy nor appreciate hostile flame wars and the like just because we enjoy fringe puzzle pieces and analysis. Nor do we wish to cast the least bit of aspersions on FR.

I do not know how many of us will be willing to show up and post on this thread. Many are gunshy from all the flame attacks such topics typically trigger hereon. However, if my FREEPMAIL is any hint, there are plenty to be interested in such a thread.

HOWEVER, to whatever degree I may be graced with the ability to do so--this thread will NOT tolerate flame wars, flame posts, hostile jabs at other posters etc. I will do my utmost to get such posts pulled immediately.

The THREAT MATRIX thread has done mostly pretty well at creating and maintaining a lot of resourcefulness, creativity, camaraderie, mutual supportiveness and friendliness.

I hope and expect that this thread can even do better. Certainly I will do what I can to help make that happen.

If this thread flies and helps in any way analyze the WOT threats as well as natural disaster threats or any other plausible threats from 'reality' (whatever that is), then WONDERFUL. If it's just a good place to toss around the various puzzle pieces and their implications in a convoluted era and reality--that's worth some time, too.

If this thread dies and early death from disinterest, so be it.

If you have comments about the above, please post them! Hostile dereogatory posts will AT LEAST BE WHOLESALE IGNORED.

I recall reading somewhere in the last month, a prediction that a very major devastating quake on the West Coast or the Pacific would occur shortly after a moderate quake in Alaska or just south of Alaska.

We shall see.

Personally, I'd vote for keeping Jihadi's out of quake shelters.

(v33)ask; what is it about the feet that is different from the other descriptions? the other substances making up the image were "one", and the feet are a MIXTURE! now....does that mixture "mix"? this is important because god wants us to know that there will be no "oneness" until the end (the stone).

It will not be one kingdon it will be the opposing king (ref.dan.11:36-45)(anti-christ)and or 10 Horns Little Horn(ref.dan.12:1-11)(10 nations or kingdoms) All the other were one kingdom. We are talking world order.

Yes it all relates and the picture doesnt change that much. Draw a picture of this man on the left side of a full peice of paper.

Put the man on the left and leave the right side blank so you have room to write.

Now go back with my above post and draw a line from the head across to the right side and write gold,Babylon, Neb. then do the same with the breast, belly and thighs, leg and feet.

i am in agreement with davey here, and i think it would be good to move forward to the other symbols, using your diagram helps....you may need a bigger piece of paper :)......they essentially seem to reinforce your interpretation of kingdoms as the symbols used closely mirror those you listed in the order you listed them in.

im thinking the characteristic of the feet may be important....to understand with the purpose of seeing how the "not one-ness" (iron and clay dont mix) has played out thru history, from napoleon to hitler to stalin - rulers who have attempted to create the world-spanning empire.

Chinese Woman Beaten To Death After Distributing Bibles

A 34-year-old woman has been beaten to death by police after she was
arrested for handing out Bibles in southwest China's Guizhou province.
The French News Agency quoted China's state run Legal Daily newspaper as
saying that police in Guizhou's Tongzi county arrested Jiang Zongxiu, a
farmer, on June 18 on suspicion of "spreading rumors and inciting to
disturb social order." They had planned to detain her for 15 days, the
report said, alleging Jiang died in police custody the afternoon she was
arrested. Her mother-in-law, Tan Dewei, who was arrested with Jiang but
later released, told reporters police kicked Jiang repeatedly during
interrogation. Police later informed Jiang's family she had died of a
sudden illness and turned over her body to the family, but relatives saw
she was covered with bruises and blood stains. It is at least the second
published killing of a Christian by Chinese police in as many months,
although human rights watchdogs believe torture of Christians and
dissidents is wide spread in the Communist nation. Chinese police
officials have refused to comment on the case. An operator manning the
phones at the Guizhou police station said she was "not aware of the
incident", AFP reported. The unprecedented report on the attack by state
media is seen as a sign of public disgust with police tactics and
China's continuing crackdown on religious practitioners.

Fear Syria's Economic Might, Great Satan!

In late June 2004, the Syrian People's Council approved a decision to call on the Syrian government to respond to the U.S. sanctions on Syria that began the previous month by banning activity by U.S. oil companies in Syria. A member of the Syrian Economic Center, Nidhal Ma'louf, wrote a critical article that was cited in the Syrian on-line independent newspaper Champress. The following is the article:(1)
"Someone is acting to represent our institutions across the world as if [these institutions] are acting out of confusion and are incapable of understanding and working to obtain their interests. Unfortunately, we find that today we are shifting from a policy of shortsightedness to one of total blindness.

"It is also sad that many of those who influence the fateful decisions think that there is a solution other than arriving at mutual understanding with the U.S. We cannot behave in accordance with our likes and hates; rather, we [must] safeguard our interests and ward off the dangers threatening us - even if we hate what we are doing...

"What does the People's Council want to show? That the Syrian people does not like the U.S.? And if this be so, call upon this people to go out into the streets, burn American flags, fall upon the U.S. Embassy in Damascus, and hold sit-down strikes and demonstrations!

"It is completely illogical to pass a law expressing a government policy that will lead to nothing but damage to the interests of the people, in the name of the people. The Syrian people have chosen its representatives with the thought that they are capable of defending its interests and of participating in running affairs of state in a way that will benefit the homeland and citizens. Perilous Times

I don't think the New Jerusalem will have a Temple. Seems contrary to Rev 21:21-27:

"The main street of the City was pure gold, translucent as glass. But there was no sign of a Temple, for the Lord God--the Sovereign-Strong--and the Lamb are the Temple. . . ."

The Anti Christ is not going to enter the New Jerusalem and his image or some such will be set up in the Holy of Holies well before (3.5 years?) the arrival of the New Jerusalem. When the AntiChrist's image is set up in the Holy of Holies, the Jews will realize they've made a covenant with the wrong dude and flee for their lives as Scripture indicates.

Death and destruction are not exactly foreign themes in cosmology. Black holes can rip apart stars; unseen dark energy hurtles galaxies away from one another.

So maybe it's not surprising that Sir Martin Rees, Britain's Astronomer Royal, sees mayhem down on Earth. He warns that civilization has only an even chance of making it to the end of this century. The 62-year-old University of Cambridge astrophysicist and cosmologist feels so strongly about his grim prognostication that last year he published a popular book about it called Our Final Hour.

The book (entitled Our Final Century in the U.K.) represents a distillation of his 20 years of thinking about cosmology, humankind and the pressures that have put the future at risk. In addition to considering familiar potential disasters such as an asteroid impact,
environmental degradation, global warming, nuclear war and unstoppable pandemics, Rees thinks science and technology are creating not only new opportunities but also new threats. He felt compelled to write Our Final Hour to raise awareness about both the hazards and the special
responsibilities of scientists.

As one himself, Rees was among the first to posit that giant black holes power quasars, and his work on quasar distribution helped to refute the theory that the cosmos exists in a steady state.

Rees directed Cambridge's Institute of Astronomy until 1992; he then served for a decade as a Royal Society Research Professor before assuming the mastership of Cambridge's Trinity College. Since 1995 Rees has also held the honorary title of U.K. Astronomer Royal, once an
active post based at Greenwich Observatory and first held by John Flamsteed and then Edmond Halley.

Astronomers are well positioned to ponder the fate of humanity, Rees insists, because they have a unique vantage point in terms of the vast timescales of the future. "Astronomers have a special perspective to see
ourselves as just a part of a process that is just beginning rather than having achieved its end," he says. "And perhaps this gives an extra motive to be concerned about what happens here on Earth in this
century."

Innovation is changing things faster than ever before, and such increasing unpredictability leaves civilization more vulnerable to misadventure as well as to disaster by design. Advances in biotechnology, in terms of both increasing sophistication and decreasing costs, means that weaponized germs pose a huge risk.

In a wager he hopes to lose, Rees has bet $1,000 that a biological incident will claim one million lives by 2020. "In this increasingly interconnected world where individuals have more power than ever before at their fingertips, society should worry more about some kind of
massive calamity, however improbable," Rees states.

APOCALYPSE SOON? A 2003 bioterror drill in Cambridge, Mass.

In calculating the coin-flip odds for humanity at 2100, Rees adds together those improbabilities, including those posed by self-replicating, nanometer-size robots. These nanobots might chew through organic matter and turn the biosphere into a lifeless "gray goo," a term coined by nanotech pioneer K. Eric Drexler in the 1980s.

Gray goo achieved more prominence last year after Prince Charles expressed concern about it and Michael Crichton used it as the basis for his novel Prey.

It's not just out-of-control technology that has Rees worried. Basic science can present a threat. In July 1999 Scientific American ran a letter by Princeton University physicist Frank Wilczek, who pointed to "a speculative but quite respectable possibility" that the Brookhaven
National Laboratory's Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) could produce particles called strangelets.
These subatomic oddities could grow by consuming nearby ordinary matter.

Soon after, a British newspaper posited that a "big bang machine"--that is, RHIC--could destroy the planet.

The ensuing media flurry led then Brookhaven director John H. Marburger to pull together an outside panel of physicists, who concluded that the strangelet scenario was remote, about a one-in-50-million chance of killing six billion people. (Another panel, convened by CERN near
Geneva, drew a similar conclusion.)

In Our Final Hour, Rees noted that the chances can be expressed differently--namely, that 120 people might die from the RHIC experiments. He thinks experts should debate in public the merits and risks of such work.

I do not personally believe that the abomination that makes desolate has already occurred.

Mat 24:15 MESSAGE:

"'But be ready to run for it when you see the monster of desecration set up in the Temple sanctuary. The prophet Daniel described this. If you've read Daniel (9:27--see below), you'll know what I'm talking about. If you'are living in Judea at the time, run for the hills; if you're working in the yard, don't return to the house to get anything; if you're out in the field, don't go back and get your coat. At which point--the abomination of desolation being set up in the Holy of Holies--clueing in the Israelis that they backed the wrong dude; according to another Scripture--the AC begins a massive slaughter of Israeli's.

Daniel 9:27: "'Then for one seven, he will forge many and strong alliances, but halfway through the seven he will banish worship and prayers. At the place of worship, a desecrating obscenity will be set up and remain until finally the desecrator himself is decisively destroyed.'"

Whole Life Study Bible has this note on p 1456: . . .

The major sign is "the abomination that causes desolation" (Mt 24:15), a specific observable event that tells the faithful who are alive during the tribulation that Christ's coming to earth at the end of the age will occur very shortly. This visible sign-event refers primarily to the future desecration of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem by the antichrist (see Da 9:27, note; 1Jn 2:18; see article on THE AGE OF THE ANTICHRIST, p. 1872). The antichrist, or man of lawlessness, will set up an image of himself in God's temple, declaring himself to be God (2Th 2:3-4; Rev 13:14-15). The following are important facts concerning this pivotal event."

"(1) The 'abomination that causes desolation' will mark the beginning of the final stage of the tribulation, which culminates in Christ's return to earth and his judgment on the ungodly at Armageddon (Mt 24:21,29-30; see Da 9:27; Rev 19:11-21)."

"(2) By noting the time of this event ("So when you see" Mt 24:15), tribulation saints can know with a high degree of certainty when the tribulation will end and Christ will come to reign on earth (see Mt 24:33, note). Earthquake Rattles Israel

No Damage Reported

Epicenter Was In Tel Aviv

JERUSALEM (AP) A moderate earthquake shook Israel on Wednesday, but caused no damage or injuries, Israeli paramedics said.

The magnitude-4.7 quake was felt throughout the country, with its epicenter in the coastal city of Tel Aviv, Israel's seismological institute said. Buildings shook for several seconds.

A magnitude-5 quake can cause considerable damage in populated areas.

The quake was also felt in neighboring Jordan, where some residents in the capital, Amman, left their homes and went into the streets when they felt the tremor. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage there either.

Also in southern Lebanon people in villages bordering Israel said they felt a slight tremor.

An earthquake in Israel in March measured magnitude-3.2 and a magnitude-5.2 struck in February.

Israel and Jordan border the Syrian-African rift, a geological fault line that stretches from Syria to Mozambique and is often subject to tremors.

The 5.2 in February was under Jerusalem. The only lasting effects seem to have been a crack in the ceiling of Sharon's office; damage to the Temple Mount Wall; serious damage to the roof of the Dome of the Rock.

I wonder if any symbolic damage will be found from this quake under Tel Aviv. [Though of course it's considerably smaller.]

i can see you guys have been "mining" Daniel! thats great! because of the symbols - specifically their characteristics, are important to understand, i was hoping to point out the main themes that consistently appear. to me, Jesus saying "let the reader understand" - parenthetically too! - He's seems to be putting special emphasis on paying attention to those characteristics....dont you think?

along those lines, i notice Daniel 7:25 is very specific (you wanted specificity, right? :) regarding actions that the abomination undertakes. i think that paying attention to these, understanding these, is the key to identifying what, or who Jesus is specially pointing out for us in Matt: 24.

i feel this study is moving along quickly! already the "little horn" has been mentioned, along with 1260 days, 3 1/2 years, and other events/prophecies. im not sure i can keep up! it is why i felt that understanding "prophetic time" was important earlier on in the thread. (the year/day principle which seems to be established in Ezekiel 4:6 and Numbers 14:34). applying that measure seems to tie in with the specific time prophecies....its discovering when to start the counting "clock" - that is the study im working on, along with related symbols, characteristics, and stuff. never forgetting, jesus is the point of it all, in the end! knowing & understanding prophecy is all well & good - we are told to seek these understandings "while there's time", but ....(note to self): He saves me - not my knowledge (saves me).....LUB
