Many FReepers have knowledge to share about improving and maintaining health and would like to share it and learn from others; and others may not know much yet but want to learn. Some of us don't have much money for good insurance or doctors, some want to try other methods besides prescription meds, and some have experience in treating and solving health problems.
More and more "regular" doctors have accepted treatment methods such as the benefits of acupuncture, massage for many conditions, better diet, use of herbs and so on. There are limits, and often side effects, to some standard medical efforts.
My field is Ayurvedic herbalism and related measures, and have a lot of information I can post when I have time. I have seen herbs and sometimes dietary changes help people (including myself) with issues such as rheumatoid arthritis, high BP, gallstones, kidneystones, repeated boils, UTIs, prostate problems, insomnia, allergies, urinary incontinence, and many more. I hope to learn a lot from others with their knowledge and experience.
There are many "old fashioned" home care methods that were in common use a few generations ago that actually work and are cheap, such as castor oil packs, fomentations using alternating hot and cold water, and the like, which are easy to do. I am sure there is a lot of knowledge here on Free Republic that can be shared.
I would like this thread to stay civil without distruption, so my request is that people who think natural health methods are bunkum, make your own thread.
Wow! Good for you. The more I learned about Keto, I thought this is for me! Most of the recommended foods I already eat. Just need to reorganize, intermittent fast and MEAL PREP!
I miss orange juice and Coke though. Lol. Thanks for the links. I’ve watched some of Dr. Berrys already.
We have wood floors that must be swept at minimum daily or it creeps me. We never wear outdoor shoes inside. And if what I sweep up accumulated in carpet...well yuck.
Thank you!

As someone who lives the natural lifestyle- organic non-processed food and no drugs-only natural/herbal remedies, please add me to your ping list-I’m very interested in hearing about natural diet and therapies others are using-and thanks...
bookmarking your post. :-)
Please add me to ping list...and thank you for starting one!
Would you please add me to the list too? My husband and I have been on Dr. Steven Gundry’s Plant Paradox diet and no longer crave sweets or processed food. To get a better night’s sleep, I use red lighting as much as possible.
Hmmm, this is interesting . . . .
Daily regiminen,
Astralagus, ginseng, cats claw, monolauren.
Multi vitamin, b12, vitamin D&K combo.
Works wonders.
I will say that I cut alcohol and took a mix of L-arginine, L-citrulline, Nattokinase, and sunflower (NOT REGULAR) Lecithin and my BP dropped from 147/100 to 130/85 in a week.
I just tested two weeks and it’s now 125/77.
And please add me to the ping list
Ping please***
Please add me to your list. Thank you.
Thanks for starting this thread.
Please do post any and all info you can, as you have time.
Many, including myself, have seen and experienced the effectiveness of alternative medicine.
Knowledge is power. The more we know, the better we may be able to help ourselves.
>cats claw
I haven’t ever used cats claw, but the missionaries that live near me went all around Central and South America and swear the stuff kills cancer like crazy.
I’ve studied up a bit on carpets. The underlayment is toxic, the carpet fibers break off and float in the air and get inhaled, in winter the heat source burns them and creates toxins. Carpets if outdoor shoes are worn on them house more filth than sidewalks that at least get sun and ozone from the air.
Of course some carpets are not as filthy, depending on location and use. But shoes step on every manner of dirt, crap, spit, oils, etc on sidewalks and streets, and bring it into the house. And any spills - then mold happens.
I loathe carpets and cannot live in house with them.
You’re on.
I will add you. I also have an herb blend that is the best thing for sound sleep; quite a few clients use it. It also helps, depending on dose, with anxiety, stress and knocks down pain. Non-narcotic of course.
I use it myself when needed. I’ll post my formula if anyone is interested.
