Obama amputates our nuclear arms
By: Charles Krauthammer
...snippet...
Under President Obamas new policy, however, if the state that has just attacked us with biological or chemical weapons is in compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty, explained Gates, then the U.S. pledges not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against it.
Imagine the scenario: Hundreds of thousands are lying dead in the streets of Boston after a massive anthrax or nerve gas attack. The president immediately calls in the lawyers to determine whether the attacking state is in compliance with the NPT. If it turns out that the attacker is up-to-date with its latest IAEA inspections, well, it gets immunity from nuclear retaliation. (Our response is then restricted to bullets, bombs and other conventional munitions.)
However, if the lawyers tell the president that the attacking state is NPT noncompliant, we are free to blow the bastards to nuclear kingdom come.
This is quite insane. Its like saying that if a terrorist deliberately uses his car to mow down a hundred people waiting at a bus stop, the decision as to whether he gets hanged or 100 hours of community service hinges entirely on whether his car had passed emissions inspections.
Apart from being morally bizarre, the Obama policy is strategically loopy. Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the United States without fear of nuclear retaliation?
The naivete is stunning.

Yemen estimates Al Qaida has 400 agents in country, most Saudis
CAIRO - Yemeni officials said the Sanaa government has determined that at
least 400 agents of Al Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) were operating
in Yemen.
The officials said many of the agents were recruited over the last year.
“They seek to cause chaos and destruction,” Yemeni Foreign Minister Abu Bakr
Al Qurbi said.
On Oct. 24, Al Qurbi said AQAP was dominated by Saudi nationals. The foreign
minister said the Saudis have been among the most active of Islamic
fighters.
Officials said AQAP was being directed by Saudis, who have been recruiting
nationals from Eritrea and Iraq. They said Yemen has released some of the
foreign nationals.
Yemen has offered a $50,000 reward for a Saudi national believed to be a
leading AQAP operative. The Saudi was identified as Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al
Jasser, said to have planned an attack in Saudi Arabia in December 2009. Al
Jasser was said to have worked with four other Al Qaida members from Saudi
Arabia.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Interior Ministry has reported the surrender of Bader
Mohammed Nasser Al Shehri, deemed a leading Al Qaida fugitive.

“Inspire”
Magazine: “I Am Proud to be a Traitor To America” By Samir Khan
Published: October 25, 2010
The NEFA Foundation has obtained an article authored by former New York and
North Carolina resident Samir Khan in Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula’s
“Inspire” magazine, titled “I Am Proud to be a Traitor To America”. Khan
noted, “I knew that [while in America] I had to stay under the guidelines of
the laws regarding freedom of speech, but at the same time, I knew the real
truth wouldn’t be able to reach the masses unless and until I was above the
law.” He continued, “Throughout my experience of traveling from America to
Yemen, I was expecting to be stopped and detained. But the most trouble I
went through — if it’s even considered trouble — was that it took thirty
minutes extra to get my boarding pass in North Carolina since, as the
receptionist told me, I was being watched. It still surprises me when I
reflect on it; I mean, I was quiet [sic] open about my beliefs online and it
didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that I was al Qaeda to the
core.” (Read Article

Beware of muslim outreach
By Ronin, 30 Oct, 10
Yesterday al qaidas junior varsity team once again attacked the west. The
attack failed, none of the devices found on any of the aircraft actually
detonated. Now the smart folks will investigate and determine if the failure
was a design flaw or just blind luck. Several of the devices found were
decoys and the entire episode will slow package delivery throughout the
Christmas holiday season. At some level slowing air delivery will be called
a success the muslims will all high five and declare victory.
You do not
have to destroy an aircraft or kill someone to cause westerners to flush
massive amounts of money.
We can all expect security to tighten on all forms of travel; politicians
will attempt to capitalize on the attempt with demands for investigations,
more money for security and the most dangerous move possible-muslim
outreach.

Al Qaida in N. Africa supplying cocaine to Europe from South America
WASHINGTON - The Al Qaida network in North Africa has become the latest
Islamic insurgency organization to partner with drug smugglers in South
America.
A leading U.S. research center has asserted that Al Qaida in the Islamic
Maghreb has teamed with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC,
for global drug smuggling. The Center for A New American Security said AQIM
was overseeing the arrival of cocaine and other drugs from South America.

“More recently, officials have uncovered cooperation between the FARC and
traffickers belonging to AQIM and other gangs in the Sahel region of
Africa,” the center said in a report. “As drug flows migrate across the
Atlantic, spurred by increasing European demand for cocaine, so does the
international presence of the FARC.”
In a report released on Oct. 19, the center said AQIM has become the latest
Islamic insurgency group to cooperate with FARC and other drug networks in
South America. The report, titled “Crime Wars: Gangs, Cartels and U.S.
National Security,” cited longtime collaboration between FARC and the
Iranian-sponsored Hizbullah, which included an arrangement of drugs for
weapons.

Venezuela was also said to have been supplying passports to travelers who
sought refuge in such countries as Iran, Syria and Yemen. The report said
IRGC was believed to have been helping FARC and other groups opposed to

Somali military retreats from battle with Al Shabaab terrorists
. October 30th, 2010 1:16 pm ET
Somalia’s military forces retreated from a major town on its border with
Kenya and Ethiopia when the terrorist group Al Shabaab retook the town on
Friday, according to U.S. counterterrorism experts.
Government forces and Ahlu Sunna Waljama’ fighters had controlled the town
of Belet-hawo this month, but have experienced a surge of enemy fighters.
Mohamoud Hussein, a local official, released a statement that “they left the
town because they feared civilian casualties would increase if Al Shabaab
attacked the town.” Thousands of local civilians have fled their homes as
the terrorists advanced.

Reports are that Saudi Arabia sent the tip about the packages on the plane. I think there’s more to come and Saudi Arabia will not “tip” but will feign ignorance and innocence. “If only we’d have received a tip - this time - we’d have let you know like we did in October. Gosh, so sorry.”
The explosives were so sophisticated that the investigators didn’t even know it was viable until it went to forensics.
That’s scary.

Palestinians: Hamas has deployed black ops squad in Gaza
GAZA CITY - The Hamas regime has been operating a secret assassination squad
in the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian sources.
The sources said Hamas has deployed what they termed a black operations unit
meant to eliminate rivals and opponents of the Islamic regime. They said the
secret squad contained trained Hamas assassins who wear masks to prevent
identification.
“Their missions include killings and severe beatings with nobody taking
credit and no genuine suspects arrested,” a Palestinian source familiar with
the squad said.
The black squad was said to have been established by Hamas military chief
Ahmed Jabari. The sources said the unit, financed by Iran’s Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps, was directed by Jabari and his No. 2, Mohammed
Deif.
The sources said the black ops squad contains up to 50 officers, many of
them trained by IRGC. They said some of the officers were believed to have
participated in secret IRGC operations against opponents of the Teheran
regime over the last three years. The Iranian training was said to include
counter-espionage, communications interception and encryption.
