Under President Obama’s new policy, however, if the state that has just attacked us with biological or chemical weapons is “in compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty,” explained Gates, then “the U.S. pledges not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against it.”
Imagine the scenario: Hundreds of thousands are lying dead in the streets of Boston after a massive anthrax or nerve gas attack. The president immediately calls in the lawyers to determine whether the attacking state is in compliance with the NPT. If it turns out that the attacker is up-to-date with its latest IAEA inspections, well, it gets immunity from nuclear retaliation. (Our response is then restricted to bullets, bombs and other conventional munitions.)
However, if the lawyers tell the president that the attacking state is NPT noncompliant, we are free to blow the bastards to nuclear kingdom come.
This is quite insane. It’s like saying that if a terrorist deliberately uses his car to mow down a hundred people waiting at a bus stop, the decision as to whether he gets hanged or 100 hours of community service hinges entirely on whether his car had passed emissions inspections.
Apart from being morally bizarre, the Obama policy is strategically loopy. Does anyone believe that North Korea or Iran will be more persuaded to abjure nuclear weapons because they could then carry out a biological or chemical attack on the United States without fear of nuclear retaliation?
The naivete is stunning.

Why Two Osama bin Laden Messages Instead Of One?
Osama bin Laden issues two audio messages in two days, both on the subject of relief efforts, specifically in Pakistan.
Things just got interesting. Why two? Double-releases from Al Qaeda are not unprecedented, but they’re usually on separate topics.
One of the following explanations seems to me to be the most likely:
1) The doubled-up message may be operational redundancy reflecting a lack of confidence on bin Laden’s part regarding the pipeline through which his messages are transmitted to the public.
2) The messages may have been recorded at different times, but there was a delay in delivery resulting in both messages reaching the distributor (likely Adam Gadahn) at the same time

NewsCore - A New York-bound jumbo jet carrying 296 passengers was forced to make an emergency landing at London’s Heathrow Airport Saturday.
The British Airways Boeing 747, on its way to JFK Airport, was flying over southwest London at 9.20am local time but turned back when a light in the cockpit indicated that one of its doors was not completely closed.
Flight number BA117 had been reported by residents in nearby suburbs to be flying very low and was in the air for about 11 minutes.

Naples: Al-Qaeda man arrested with bomb

Two Italian newspapers say police have arrested a French man wanted in his country and suspected to be a member of al-Qaida.
Il Mattino, a newspaper based in Naples, and the Naples editions of La Repubblica said Sunday that the suspect had notes and a kit for making bombs when he was arrested.
They say the 28-year-old of Algerian origin was picked up in Naples, southern Italy. Police also seized his laptop and mobile phone, according to the reports.

Ahmadinejad calls for US leaders to be ‘buried’

Iran’s president Sunday called for U.S. leaders to be “buried” in response
to what he says are American threats of military attack against Tehran’s
nuclear program.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is known for brash rhetoric in addressing the West, but
in a speech Sunday he went a step further using a deeply offensive insult in
response to U.S. statements that the military option against Iran is still
on the table.
“May the undertaker bury you, your table and your body, which has soiled the
world,” he said using language in Iran reserved for hated enemies.
Several top U.S. officials including Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the U.S.
Joint Chiefs of Staff have said in recent months that the military option
remains on the table and there is a plan to attack Iran, although a military
strike has been described as a bad idea.

Last weekend’s raids on homes and offices of so-called “anti-war” activists in Chicago and Minneapolis highlighted the close alliance between Leftwing anti-American Marxist groups and Islamic jihadists and their collaborative efforts to destroy Israel and the United States. Clearly, the radical Left is not discriminating and will join forces with any group that shares its hatred of Israel and the United States.
The FBI raids were ostensibly based on information about the connections of those “anti-war” groups to specific Middle Eastern and South American terrorist groups such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Columbian terrorist group FARC. In addition, there were links to Hezbollah and evidence will show a link to the Zapatistas in Mexico. Apparently, there were also tips about the harboring of terrorists at a “safe house” and fundraising efforts for terrorist activities in the United States. Those raided are accused of giving material aid to terrorist groups against a Presidential directive making it illegal to do so.

EU: Al-Qaeda list of targets
Fox News reports that the German terrorist suspect provided a list of possible targets:
(...) a senior western intelligence official told Fox News on Sunday that a German-Pakistani national interrogated at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan provided a list of targets. The list was later confirmed by another senior intelligence official.
They include the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the luxury Hotel Adlon near Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate. Targets also include the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, as well as Berlin’s Central Station and its landmark Alexanderplatz TV tower. One official said security has also been tightened around the British royal family.
ABC news suggests the attack might have been planned against airports:
Among the possible targets in the suspected European terror plot are pre-security areas in at least five major European airports, a law enforcement official told ABC News. Authorities believe terror teams are preparing to mount a commando like attack featuring small units and small firearms modeled after the Mumbai attack two years ago.
AP reports that dozens of European Muslims are training in Pakistan for attacks against European capitals. European Jihadis training in Pakistan is not new. Until now it wasn’t clear if they were training for attacks in Europe, but as this article pointed out, al-Qaeda already made the decision to go ahead with such an attack, and just a year ago German Jihadis threatened an “October attack”.
Meanwhile, French police arrested a man suspected of making the recent bomb threats. French press reports the man is not a terrorist.

I would guess that the fishing tournament and jet ski set up, was planned and in place, before the gangsters took over the area.
I would also guess, that even there, there are many who do not think the problem is as great as it is on the tv, so they go right on, after all the main income will be from American tourists, so get them in, by any means.
Free Press in Canada, attempted to warn folks to stay out of Mexico, they were keeping an eye on the Canadians who were attacked, disappeared, etc, about 4 or 5 years ago.

New US Demands for Information Angers European Parliament
US officials are demanding access to additional European police databases in
their hunt for potential terrorists traveling to the US. The demands include
DNA samples, fingerprints, access to criminal registers and other
information. The request is being opposed by members of the European
Parliament.
Under massive pressure from the United States government, European Union
member states are moving to provide American security officials with access
to data in European police databases. Last week, Austria gave in to pressure
from Washington to provide access to data including DNA samples, criminal
registries and fingerprints.
Without the data exchange, the US ambassador in Vienna made clear to the
Austrian chancellor’s office that Washington would quickly remove Austria
from the list of countries that enjoy a visa waver for travel to the United
States. Other countries, including Germany, had already quietly acquiesced
to Washington’s firm wishes.

Side note: My beautiful, oldest(27 yrs.)granddaughter was married Saturday night. She and new husband went to a beachfront resort in Mexico for a 10-day honeymoon. It’s in a private gated community, with armed guards. I turned blue in the face trying to convince them to go elsewhere, but......
They both travel overseas quite often with their jobs, so they are pretty travel savvy. Just hope the stars in their eyes don’t blind them.
I did manage to get a promise from them that they would not leave the resort and venture into the city. There are four restaurants on the property and lots of activities, so they really don’t need to leave.
I can’t help but worry.

dangerously radioactive. It is being sent to the Central Forensic Science
Laboratory for tests.
