Depends on whether she was an unwed mother when obama was born. If she was unwed, then she only needed to have been physically in the US for 12 months prior to O’s birth (not immediately prior). If so he is a citizen at birth.
Per the State Dept. Foreign Affairs manual, it has never been definitively determined whether a person born abroad to American citizen is considered, natural born with respect to eligibility to be POTUS.

Anyone discussing this document should be careful to use the word “alleged” and to not trust it until verified.

I will again point out the lag in reading what has been posted... sort of the check is in the mail. I am further researching to find out exactly when Kenya started to use "republic" in its name—prior to the election, at the election, after the election? Was if a fait accompli by the time of the election? Certainly, the election was held to fill parliamentary posts of a republican form of government. When was the decision made, and when was the switch over in paper work started. It's possible that in a poor country, they would not be wanting to re-print government forms to change a name in such a short time when they already knew that in a few short months, the name of the country would be the Republic of Kenya. (I would tend to think they would grandfather in the old Colonial paper work... but then, I have not lived under colonial rule and don't know how anxious they might have been to be shut of the trappings of that rule.) Certainly, politicians were already setting up their campaigns for the parliamentary offices they were running for months ahead of the actual declaration of being a republic.
can someone check if seals are signed...directly over the seal..in Kenya. Thee is a seal in the lower left corner..I remember seeing signed seals..and a date stamp over the seal..

Danae, I don’t think that comment is entirely fair. You were convinced your document was received by you in 2000 IIRC and yet it was date stamped much later.
I also wondered how that was possible, but thought it best to let the matter settle, and sure enough, you returned and explained you had made a mistake.
