Few states or countries were more welcoming to cryptocurrency miners than Texas. Now, lawmakers are expressing more skepticism. ... "Why is it that the cryptocurrency miners get such a sweetheart deal when we were here first?" asked energy economist Ed Hirs. "The cryptocurrency miners operate as a parasitic load," Hirs continued. "They're the tapeworms of the ERCOT grid." ... "I'm not sure how the legislature is going to deal with it," Hirs said. "Can you put the genie back in the bottle?" ... This week’s issue of The Economist, the world’s most respected news magazine, features the iconic Rosie-the-Riveter under the headline “Meet America’s Most Dynamic Political Movement”. Intriguing. What’s old Rosie up to now, 80 years after D-Day? It turns out that The Economist is touting abortion activism -- not just as the most dynamic, but as the noblest, bravest, most altruistic, most democratic movement in the US in 2024. Its leader (editorial) describes it as: “a revolt of millions of Americans who think government has little business inserting itself into private decisions … [a] movement [that] will restore or fortify the...

A Safe Haven for Newborns celebrated the milestone of more than 400 babies safely surrendered earlier this spring. A Safe Haven for Newborns was founded in 2001 under the Gloria M. Silverio Foundation. This was her husband Nick’s vision to remember his beloved wife who had died in a car accident. The Silverios were unable to have children, as Gloria had suffered two miscarriages. As he was mourning his wife, Silverio was up late one night, flipping through a magazine and came across a story concerning the rise in infant abandonment. The next morning, he announced to staff at the...

Pregnancy help medical clinics protect women and babies It’s their actions that reveal the ruse. Their language has been powerful in creating a pro-woman narrative, insisting abortion is “essential healthcare.” Abortion advocates are unequivocal in their talking points: the health and safety of women rely on the availability of abortion on demand. And with that language, they make abortion providers the heroes of women's health. Spice it up with “fake clinic” language to mark (and target) pregnancy medical centers (PMCs) as the ones creating a medical ruse and you have a great story. The language is effective (though deceitful) in...

A group of trans activists appeared to disrupt a New York City school board meeting by loudly humming and howling as attendees attempted to discuss a policy that would ban transgender athletes from playing on girls' sports teams. The meeting on Wednesday night was held by Community Education Council District 2, Manhattan's largest school district. The meeting planned to discuss a controversial measure passed in March that would demand the city's Department of Education allow a public review of its transgender athlete policy. Since the measure was passed, trans advocates have showed up at each school board meeting to protest...

On a recent podcast, Desiree Merced opened up about her experience undergoing a chemical abortion, the trauma she experienced, and how she nearly died in the process. Merced appeared on a podcast with Ivan the Evangelist, and though she had been nervous to share her story, she believed that doing so would serve a greater purpose. “I was so nervous to do this podcast and even after doing it I was so nervous to share it on my social media because it’s so raw, real and open,” she wrote on Facebook. “[T]he amount of people reaching out to me is...

Editor’s Note: The following information is deeply disturbing and explicit. Reader discretion is advised. CV NEWS FEED // The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh analyzed the “manifesto” of a “transgender” gunwoman who murdered six people at a Nashville Christian school in March 2023. On Wednesday, Walsh posted several alleged photographs of the “manifesto” to his X (formerly Twitter) account. He wrote on the platform that the writings are evidence of the 28-year-old woman’s “anti-Christian, pro-trans, and perverse ideas.” “In one passage, the shooter rails against ‘Christian friends’ that her parents have encouraged her to make,” Walsh noted. “She writes, ‘Parents actually...

Amid a rise in both positive and negative discourse surrounding the WNBA, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark addressed recent comments regarding her name being used for racism and misogyny. The remarks may have been prompted from a Thursday afternoon post by Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington, who responded to Clark's previous comments that she is strictly focused on basketball. Later on, following the Fever's practice, she responded to the recent backlash. "It's disappointing. I think everyone in our world deserves the same amount of respect," Clark said. "The women around our league deserve the same amount of respect. People should...

Sen. John Fetterman’s unsafe driving habits are so alarming that some of his staffers are afraid to get in a car with him when he’s behind the wheel, according to a report. The Pennsylvania Democrat was cited for extreme speeding at least twice before he plowed into the back of a 62-year-old woman’s vehicle on Sunday, an accident that sent him, his wife Gisele and other driver to the hospital, the Washington Post reported on Thursday. Fetterman, 54, has also been known to FaceTime and text while driving, behavior that has prompted his staff to implement “an informal practice” of...

Nearly twenty years ago, long before she was in office, a current Democratic U.S. senator wanted to buy a vacation home. She used an online mortgage broker based in North Carolina. On her loan application, she listed her own estimate of what her primary residence was worth. She got the loan and ultimately paid it back early. Fast forward to today. Would it be wrong for the Department of Justice to start examining that loan application with an eye toward civil action against her? What about the North Carolina attorney general? Does the answer change if the attorney general ran...

Donald Trump has opened up on the potential existence of aliens, and revealed discussions he has had with 'serious' fighter jet pilots who claim to have seen UFOs in America. The former President appeared as a guest on YouTuber-turned-WWE star Logan Paul's podcast on Thursday, and no subject was off the table as they discussed the war in Gaza, Joe Biden, America's drug crisis and deepfakes. Trump was even quizzed on extra-terrestrials and asked whether he believes in the existence of aliens, UFOs or UAPs. 'It's such an interesting question,' Trump began.
