Now we are expected to believe that Bernie Madoff, once a star of the one-percenters, could run the kind of elaborate Ponzi scheme he did and steal billions under the nose of the SEC, but not know how many sleeping pills he and his wife needed to take themselves out. Like he finally forgot how to count. Apparently Madoff and his wife Ruth, who failed spectacularly at killing themselves, apparently now intend to kill the rest of us telling their pathetic story. Somehow a thief and rat like Bernie Madoff is still treated as if he should be in beer...

Oh, this ought to be good.CAIR is going to hold a Friday prayer service down at the Obama-endorsed Occupy Wall Street protests today. The Blaze reported: They say one can tell a lot about people by the company they keep. If that adage is true, what does the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) endorsement of Occupy Wall Street — and the organization’s choice to conduct Friday “Jummah” prayers in Zuccotti Park — tell us about both CAIR, and, the Occupy protesters? An official invitation issued by CAIR’s New York chapter tells members to show “solidarity” with “the 99%” by...

Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops -- and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food. “Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment,” said Nan Terrie, 18, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale. “I had my Mac stolen -- that was like $5,500. Every night, something else is gone. Last night, our entire [kitchen] budget for the day was stolen, so the first thing I had to do was . . . get...

All of the pictures here are the same scale. This first picture shows Zuccotti Park and the World Trade Center site in the same picture. Next a comparrison of Zuccotti Park and Washington Square Park. Now Zuccotti Park and Madison Square Garden. Yankee Stadium and Zuccotti Park. Finally Zuccotti Park and Central Park. Central Park is way too big to show on this scale so I'm just showing the base of Central Park here. for those who do not know, Central Park extends at constant width from 59th Street to 110th Street so the park extends northeast for about six...

Mike Bloomberg's girlfriend Diana Taylor happens to sit on the board of directors of Brookfield Office Properties, the company that owns Zuccotti Park. This has raised some eyebrows, given Brookfield's tense relationship with the protesters occupying its property and the way the mayor and the company have gone back and forth over their eviction. But Bloomberg says he and Taylor don't talk about Brookfield. More specifically, he told the AP that "I can tell you that pillow talk in our house is not about Occupy Wall Street or Brookfield Properties." Pillow talk! Noooo. The pillow talk of the 70-year-old Bloomberg...

Saturday evening was an occasion for visiting some old friends who live in lower Manhattan, just a couple of garbage bag throws from Zuccotti Park, ground zero of the “Occupy Wall Street” squatter encampment. So, late in the evening, we lingered briefly on Liberty Street for a look at these folks who have laid claim to turf not their own. There was a guy waving a Chinese flag, another guy toting a guitar; people sitting at folding tables, people milling around, others sitting cross-legged on the ground. There were placards about greed and corruption. It was pretty much what we’d...

Here's The Real Reason Why Occupy Wall Street Protesters Aren't Getting Kicked Out Of Zuccotti ParkRobert Johnson | Oct. 11, 2011, 12:00 PM | 13,897 | 23 Coming on the heels of the Solyndra debacle, the Obama administration has just approved a $168.9 million loan guarantee for the Granite Reliable wind farm project owned by Brookfield Asset Management (BAM). Among its many holdings BAM owns Brookfield Renewable Power, which owns the Granite Reliable and it also owns Brookfield Office Properties, whose holdings include the now famous Zuccotti Park. The Department of Energy finalized the loan guarantee less than a week...

The party’s over! The city’s top cop said today that the Occupy Wall Street protesters who clear out of Zuccotti Park tomorrow so their filthy makeshift campsite can get a much-needed cleaning can come back when the job is finished -- but they can’t take their tents, coolers and other gear with them. “People will have to remove all their belongings and leave the park,” Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said, “After it’s cleaned, they’ll be able to come back. But they won’t be able to bring back the gear, the sleeping bags, that sort of thing will not be able...

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Many of the Occupy Wall Street protesters might not realize it, but they got really lucky when they elected to gather at Zuccotti Park in downtown Manhattan. Contrary to what most people think, the park isn't a public space; it's actually privately owned by Brookfield Office Properties, which has approximately 18 million square feet in Manhattan, including the World Financial Center. And that's why the group has been able to stay there for 20 days.

It’s been a bit of a puzzle as to why the owners of Zuccotti Park that the Occupy Wall Street gang has taken over have allowed them to stay. They’re angering residents and pretty much stinking up the place. The owners have mentioned that the park is normally cleaned every night, but they have not been able to clean it in three weeks. Sanitation was “becoming an issue” a few days ago. Lord knows what it’s like now, I hear it’s pretty bad. Could the fact that the parent company of Brookfield Properties received a “green energy” loan guarantee from...

The Occupy Wall Street protesters who have taken up residence at Zuccotti Park for the past three weeks may temporarily have to find new digs Friday when crews plan to enter and clean the park. The owner of the park, Brookfield Properties, will be dispatching cleaning crews there, said Deputy Mayor for Operations Cas Holloway. Holloway said Brookfield wrote a letter to the city expressing concerns over the upkeep of the park and maintaining it in a "condition fit for public use." "The last three weeks have created unsanitary conditions and considerable wear and tear on the park," said Holloway....

'Green' firm with White House ties lined up to get massive guaranteeThe sister-in-law of John Podesta, President Obama's influential White House transition director, served as the lobbyist for a wind power firm that was just awarded a $135.8 million loan guarantee from the Department of Energy. The company is Brookfield Asset Management. (This info was developed and originally posted by chatteringclassof58. The original post was deleted. This is an edited version of the material.) Occupy Wall Street protesters have been camped out in and trashing Zuccotti Park for weeks. Zuccotti Park is a very nice private park, right in the middle of Manhattan. Zuccotti Park is owned by Brookfield Office Properties, which is part of Brookfield Asset Management, worth at least $150 billion. Brookfield Office Properties Mayor Bloomberg has said he can do nothing about the protest unless the park owners (Brookfield Properties) ask the protesters to be evicted. Brookfield issued a...

This is NOT MY post I ran across it on another forum which I don't think we can link to for various reasons. However, this moderator at the forum has been doing some digging into the connections of Zuccotti Park that the protesters are using. Kudos to the poster for the investigative work! I'll copy and paste below.

The criminals are crashing the party. Lured by cheap drugs and free food, creepy thugs have infiltrated the crowd of protesters camped out in Zuccotti Park for Occupy Wall Street, The Post has learned. “I got warrants. I’m running from the law,” boasted Dave, 24, a scrawny, unshaven miscreant in filthy clothes from Stamford, Conn. “I’m not even supposed to be here, but it’s as good a spot as any to hide.” Wanted for burglary, the drug-addled fugitive said some of his hard-partying pals clued him in that the protest was a good place to be fed, get wasted and...
