Mark Foley had served as a Deputy Majority Whip in the House and co-chair of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. While our congressmen are trying to convince their peers that Louisiana government officials are honest enough and skilled enough to handle billions of dollars of hurricane aid money for New Orleans and elsewhere, the congressman who represents the Crescent City is trying to explain away a bundle of cash investigators found in his freezer. NEW ORLEANS (AP) - FBI agents searched the Washington, D.C., and New Orleans homes of a Louisiana congressman Wednesday, hauling away boxes and bags from one of the residences. The Justice Department refused to say what agents were looking for during the searches of U.S. Rep. William Jefferson's homes and vehicle.
