The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert for ground turkey products, including Wegmans brand. The products produced by Plainville Brands are recalled due to concerns they may have caused Salmonellosis. FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. The raw ground turkey products were produced on December 18, 2020 through December 29, 2020.

A New Jersey man was charged on three criminal counts Tuesday after being accused of coughing on a grocery store clerk and claiming he has coronavirus, the New Jersey Attorney General announced. George Falcone was charged on three counts: Terroristic threats, obstructing administration of law enfocement, and harassment. The most serious charge, terroristic threats, carries a punishment of up to five years, and a $15,000 fine. Following a successful two-store pilot at its Corning and Ithaca, New York stores, Wegmans will remove single-use plastic grocery bags from all its New York State stores on Monday, January 27. The removal of plastic bags comes ahead of a state ban that takes effect on March 1. Gates police have charged a Chili man with attempted murder in a road rage incident that turned into a fight, leaving a Gates man with serious stab wounds to the neck and leg. Officers said Levar Merritt, 42, is charged with second-degree attempted murder, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree assault.
