MORRIS PLAINS — Assemblyman Jay Webber said his politics have made him the target of vandals for the second time in three months. On Thursday, the Republican, who lost to Mikey Sherrill in the 11th District congressional race in November, posted pictures of shredded campaign signs left on his driveway and yard of his Morris County home. Webber said, without providing evidence, that the vandalism was done by "leftist thugs" on the same day reports surfaced that he would seek re-election to the Assembly.

Jay Webber, Republican candidate for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, is the latest recipient of the left’s violent nature. “What the f*** is wrong with you….you scumbag. You BETTER hope you don’t win! Or else. How many kids do you have…. 7? Unlucky 7. This is what we think of you. Time to get out of politics,” the letter read. Seems unhinged New Jersey Democrats are taking the marching orders from Maxine Waters, Barrack Obama, Eric Holder and other Dem leaders to heart. To the Dems, even our children are not off limits.

The campaign for GOP candidate for Congress in New Jersey's 11th Congressional district, Assemblyman Jay Webber, R-Morris, said Wednesday that a threat against him and his seven children was delivered to his office in Whippany yesterday. The threat, which arrived with a cut up Webber for Congress sign, has been referred to the state...

Webber just survived a contentious primary to win the GOP nomination to run for Congress in District 11. Long expected to be the frontrunner for U.S. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen’s (R-11) seat in a vacuum, Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-26) refused in a statement today to tread on Frelinghuysen’s announcement with the revving of his own engines. That statement is here. But two sources with knowledge of the assemblyman’s thinking told InsiderNJ that the Assemblyman will take a hard look at a run this year. “Jay would be nuts not to strongly consider it,” a source said.
