Recently President Biden and some Democrat-controlled states have taken what they claim are decisive steps to combat climate change. But in the end, it was all nonsense, hypocrisy, and wasteful spending — with taxpayers picking up the tab. The Biden administration put the final touches on a new regulation that will ban most types of domestic water heaters that use natural gas. Under the new regulations, approximately 40% of the tankless water heaters in production today would be banned by the year 2029 and replaced with less efficient models. The Department of Energy claims that the new regulations will reduce...

The Biden administration is banning certain natural gas water heaters from the market as part of its climate change agenda, a move critics say will jack up energy costs for low-income and senior households. The move in the final days of the administration will take non-condensing, natural gas-fired water heaters off the shelves by 2029 in a bid to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, which climate change advocates and President Biden say cause global warming. The new rules will require new tankless gas water heaters to use about 13% less energy than today’s least efficient tankless models. The rules apply to...

Last-minute Biden regulations expected to cost consumers $450 more, one analysis shows... The Biden administration finalized climate regulations to ban most natural gas-powered instantaneous water heaters—a move that critics say will drive up costs for consumers. The Department of Energy—which formally published the rules the day after Christmas—didn’t issue a press release announcing the action, a departure from past appliance regulations. The published rules say the regulations are expected to help the climate by curbing carbon dioxide emissions. Overall, under the regulations, roughly 40 percent of the new tankless water heaters available in the United States today will be taken...

Water Heater Saving Project. I've moved into a new home in a retirement community and don't want big bills to replace my Water Heater down the line. I also don't like the idea that my energy bills may go up significantly with the global climate change policies that many are embracing. What can I do? Powered Anode (With LED) - $99 Amazon. $10 - Water Pressure gauge Home Depot. $5 Meat Temperature gauge. Plumber $89. First: High Water Pressure and High water Temperatures kill Water Heaters prematurely (as low as 5 years). Over 80 PSI or over $180, I consider...

“It seems that almost everything that plugs in or fires up around the house is either subject to a pending regulation or soon will be,” Ben Lieberman, senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, told Fox News. Lieberman was responding to the news that the Biden administration was going to target hot water heaters for more regulation. Apparently, the regulatory gurus at the Department of Energy claim that “the new water heater standards will curb carbon dioxide emissions and save Americans billions in the long-term,” according to a Friday press release.“Consumers aren’t going to like any of it,” Lieberman continued,...

Does anybody have experience with "Power Direct Vent" water heaters? I need to replace our conventional natural draft water heater and am thinking about a Power Direct Vent model. These units have a sealed combustion chamber and take outside air via a PVC pipe for combustion and the send the combustion gases outdoors via another PVC pipe. I've read that the fans and burners on PDV water heaters can make a lot of objectionable noise. The fans make noise especially when starting up and the burners can make a loud rumbling noise. Our forced air furnace is a similar design...

Apart from heating and cooling the house, water heating is one of the biggest energy drains in the average home. But what if you could literally use cold water to create hot water? That’s just what San Diego inventor Hal Slater claims to have done with the creation of a water heater system that promises to improve water heating efficiency by as much as 50 to 100 percent. The system works on the basis that cold water supplied to households in temperate climates averages around 70° F (21° C), which the researchers say is 15° to 20° F (8° to...
