Marxist political coalition Was active from 1992-1998 Endorsed Barack Obama for Illinois state senate seat in 1996 Co-founded in 1992 by Daniel Cantor (a former staffer for Jesse Jackson's 1988 presidential campaign) and Joel Rogers (a sociology and law professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison), the New Party was a Marxist political coalition whose objective was to endorse and elect leftist public officials -- most often Democrats. The New Party's short-term objective was to move the Democratic Party leftward, thereby setting the stage for the eventual rise of new Marxist third party. Most New Party members hailed from the Democratic...

I need a quick list of all the Communist and Marxist ties in the Obama administration for use at a meeting tonight. Something beyond his mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, and appointee Van Jones. I know this topic is rich, and I hope other FReepers can help me tie it altogether in one neat package. Thanks in advance.

Conservative videographer/activist James O'Keefe, and the late Andrew Breitbart, a right-wing Internet publisher, still get the credit for toppling ACORN. But ACORN founder Wade Rathke of New Orleans said President Barack Obama deserves credit for an assist. In an online book salon on the left-wing site, Firedoglake, Rathke, who relinquished the ACORN helm before the O'Keefe/Breitbart controversy, said the group's fall also had something to do with the fact that the former community organizer that ACORN helped put in the White House buckled under the pressure mounted by Breitbart and O'Keefe. "I'm not saying (ACORN"s leadership) thought they were going...

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) founder and Service Employees International Union organizer Wade Rathke acknowledged that the tea party movement has been more effective than Occupy Wall Street in influencing American politics. Rathke was unequivocal about the Occupy movement, telling The DC that “in no way has it had the political impact that the tea party movement has.” Yet because Occupy organizing is “still in its embryonic stages” while tea partiers have been organizing for more than two years, he cautions that “comparing the tea party movement to OWS...

Obama’s ACORN operative in the White House Patrick Gaspard, a former Working Families Party associate, is helping shape domestic policy– Obama political advisor Patrick Gaspard holds the same White House position his Bush-era predecessor, Karl Rove, did. But before he was the White House political czar he worked in several far left organizations as activist and agitator. NLPC.org reported: One of the more disturbing aspects of the Obama-ACORN connection is that the White House political affairs director is one Patrick Gaspard. Gaspard doesn’t register on the media radar screen in the way that his immediate Bush-era predecessor, Karl Rove, did....

When I was assigned to write a about tomorrow’s ”Day of Rage,” organized by the likes of ACORN Founder Wade Rathke and SEIU’s Stephen Lerner I resisted it mightily. I heard a grumble in my lower intestine and a silent yell, “Nooooooooo, don’t make me, puhleeeeeze!” I knew the cognitive dissonance and just plain idiocy of a group that regularly claims to be more “tolerant” and “compassionate” than the rest of us and then incites hatred and chaos in order to declare themselves entitled to what other people earn, would put me dangerously close to head-exploding territory. Then, I settled...

What Did Wade Rathke Know About Egypt that the CIA Didn’t and What Will Obama Do Now?Michael Gaynor at Emerging Corruption has done some digging into the situation in Egypt – about how much Wade Rathke knew about it beforehand and what influence Obama may wish to have on the situation now. New Orleans It’s amazing how we become inured to the ridiculous, even when it is abusive and preposterous. That’s my cut on Glenn Beck and his ranting, especially when he evokes me as anti-christ and revolutionary. Over the last couple of years, whenever I would mention the absurdity of it all, too often it would end up on Beck’s show on another whiteboard of whackiness, so I followed Huey Long’s old dictum that there is no real defense for a public attack and let it all run off of me like water off a duck’s back. When I flew into...

The shady Iranian fundraiser who for years donated lucrative sums to top Democrats—including the president, vice president and secretary of state—has pleaded guilty to a major bank-fraud scheme that could land him in jail for nearly two decades.Disgraced Democratic money man Hassan Nemazee admitted this week that he defrauded three financial institutions out of nearly $300 million in loan proceeds by falsifying documents and signatures to show he had hundreds of millions of dollars worth of collateral. The Ivy League-educated crook then used the proceeds to donate big bucks to the campaigns of federal, state and local candidates. Among them...

Attorney General Buddy Caldwell has served a search warrant at the ACORN office at 2609 Canal Street, according to Tammi Arender Herring, a spokeswoman with the office. Investigators in khaki pants and polo shirts loaded several dozen computers and other electronic items into an SUV. They are also carrying records out of the building on handcarts. The large office building sits at the corner of Dorgenois and Canal. ACORN staffers were given no notice that a search would be conducted today, Herring said. "They have been extremely cooperative," she said. Early last month, Caldwell's office issued subpoenas for records from...

In a fast-breaking development comes word that agents of the Attorney’s General office in Louisiana have raided ACORN’s offices in New Orleans. ACORN’s New Orleans was, for decades, the headquarters of the national community organizing association. News of the raid comes from Marcel Reid and her colleagues at ACORN 8, an association of former ACORN leaders and board members. Many of the individuals involved with ACORN 8 were fired from ACORN for demanding a forensic audit following an embezzlement scandal involving Dale Rathke, brother of ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke. . Update: Big Government has contacted the Louisiana Attorney’s General office....

Several Louisiana ACORN leaders, including the recently ousted state leader, are expected to announce today that they have started a new organization under the same name after national authorities of the community action network voted to take over the chapter. A notice of a news conference scheduled for 3 p.m. in Light City Church, 6117 St. Claude Ave., says the event will include "Louisiana ACORN Executive Director Beth Butler, " who was fired from that post Oct. 12 by national ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis. The document states that Butler will be joined by several Louisiana ACORN officers, board members and...

ACORN founder-turned-pariah Wade Rathke explained in late July SEIU’s and ACORN’s involvement in the push for socialized medicine. Who really wants a government takeover of health care? Labor unions and tax eaters. The question remains: if and when the Congress passes “reform,” will the American people understand who is really behind it? Video at link.

This is interesting because Beth Butler is the common law wife of Wade Rathke. Controversial activist group ACORN has fired the longtime companion of founder Wade Rathke over apparent concerns about a lack of "accountability" in her work leading the Louisiana chapter in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Beth Butler was the director of that chapter and close to Rathke, whose brother Dale was accused of embezzling about $1 million from the group a decade ago.

ACORN appears to have been involved in improper use of pension funds and this lawbreaking may yet land some of its officials in serious legal difficulties. That's according to F. Vincent Vernuccio, formerly a special assistant at the U.S. Department of Labor (and an American Spectator contributor) and editor of EFCAUpdate.org.

According to a July 9, 2008 article in the New York Times, Dale Rathke, the brother of ACORN’s founder, Wade Rathke, “embezzled nearly $1 million from Acorn and affiliated charitable organizations in 1999 and 2000.” The Times reported Dale Rathke embezzled $948,607.50, “carried as a loan on the books of Citizens Consulting Inc., which provides bookkeeping, accounting and other financial management services to Acorn and many of its affiliated entities.” ACORN “chose to treat the embezzlement of nearly $1 million eight years ago as an internal matter and did not even notify its board.” According to an October 10, 2008...

Kyle Olson of ACORNcracked.com has more thoughts and evidence at BigGovernment.com on the connection between Obama White House political director Patrick Gaspard and ACORN. Gaspard used to be ACORN boss Bertha Lewis’s political director when she ran ACORN’s New York chapter. ACORN founder Wade Rathke now denies the connection after writing about it in a blog post but nobody except for a few gullible reporters actually believes Rathke at this point. Olson has been on ACORN’s case a long time and does good work.

A credible source claims the embattled left-wing advocacy group ACORN is poised to announce massive staff layoffs but an ACORN spokesman denies this is the case. A credible source close to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now revealed that the activist network intends to lay off all staff members operating out of its New Orleans headquarters. All information provided by the source to this reporter in the past has turned out to be correct. However, ACORN spokesman Scott Levenson of the public relations firm The Advance Group in New York City said the source was incorrect. In...

...It was a Megyn Kelly interviewing Wade Rathke, founder and former and chief organizer of ACORN. My initial impression was this was a very fair and objective interview by Kelly. She took him through his formative years of the radical 60s to the present. As the show went on Kelly, with the help of Stanley Kurtz and others, proceeded to eviscerate Rathke to the point he boiled over. It was devastating.... But the revelations were only half the story. The special was powerful because it relied heavily, very heavily, on the subtle audio and visual effects pioneered by CBS’s “60...

Now that most people are recognizing that ACORN is basically a criminal enterprise, its activities are being examined closely all over the country. In Minnesota, the reason why a near-psychotic like Al Franken was elected to the US Senate is now becoming more clear. If only 1% of the 43,000 new voters (all Democratic) registered by ACORN in Minnesota were fraudulent (investigations in other areas indicate nearly 50% of ACORN registrations prove fraudulent), Franken is in office illegally.
