Today President Bush, in a ceremony in the East Room at the White House, the first signing ceremony of the year, signed the Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004, accompanied by Sharon Rocha and Ron Grantski, parents of murdered expectant mother, Laci Peterson, Carol Lyons, whose pregnant daughter was also murdered, Senators Orin Hatch of Utah and Mike DeWine of Ohio (!), and Representatives F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr., and Melissa Hunt. The act makes killing an unborn child (called a ‘fetus’ by pro-abortion advocates) a federal crime.
