The anti-McCarthy campaign was and always will continue to be the disinformation strategy that continued past the McCarthy times. I read Roger Kimball's essay in Epoch Times applauding an exhaustive, insightful study on the disinformation project of the left by Jacob Siegel in Tablet. My respect for Kimball at Epoch Times and many other sources, as well as my previous great experiences with Tablet commentaries prompted me to review both essays and in many ways both Kimball and Siegel did not disappoint. They were comprehensive in their warnings about disinformation and propaganda dressed up to influence the populace, its effects...

A study that appeared today on Current Biology sheds new light on the continental migrations which shaped the genetic background of all present Europeans. The research generates new ancient DNA evidence and direct dating from a fragmentary fossil mandible belonging to an individual who lived ~17,000 years ago in northeastern Italy (Riparo Tagliente, Verona). The results backdate by about 3,000 years the diffusion in Southern Europe of a genetic component linked to Eastern Europe/Western Asia previously believed to have spread westwards during later major warming shifts...This individual, whose half-mandible had been found at Riparo Tagliente in 1963, shares genetic affinities with...

Robert Kennedy Jr.’s underage younger daughter Kyra Kennedy made a scene when she was refused entry at an upstate New York nightclub, screaming at security, “I am a Kennedy, Google me!” In a scene far from the Paris Bal des débutantes, where a Dior-clad Kyra made her formal society debut in December 2013, the 19-year-old made a drunken stink at club Lava at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, NY, last Thursday when security didn’t accept her ID. Witnesses said Kyra appeared inebriated when she arrived at the club and was trying to enter an over-21 area using a...

Conason continues mining this vein of chimera: “Eventually America learned that the Wisconsin Republican’s famous list was a fabrication, that he was a liar and a demagogue as well as an alcoholic—and that his authoritarian appeals to fear were worse than useless in defending our security. But by then, McCarthyism’s self-serving and fundamentally unpatriotic promoters had inflicted grave damage on the body politic and international prestige of the United States.” Liberals have been embarrassing themselves for decades with this McCarthy business. Point out an unsavory association, and they squeal like stuck pigs about the scourge of McCarthyism. In the mind...

David Fate was dozing on a rust-colored couch inside a trailer in rural South Carolina when a loud voice pierced his slumber yesterday morning. "Wake up!" The 24-year-old Fate opened his eyes to see about a half-dozen law enforcement officers filling the cramped space before him. They were all pointing guns at him. "When he woke up, he looked at me like I was Casper the ghost, and then he realized the jig was up," Inspector Danny Potucek of the U.S. Marshals Service said. Following a trail of armed robberies that culminated in the slaying of a 29-year-old gas station...
  • Left's defense of Rosenbergs led to JFK assassination.

Lee Harvey Oswald: "I'm a Marxist," he said seriously. "I became interested about the age of 15. An old lady handed me a pamphlet about saving the Rosenbergs (Julius and Ethel Rosenberg who were executed as spies)." "I still remember that pamphlet about the Rosenbergs. I don't know why. Then we moved to North Dakota and I discovered one book in the library, 'Das Kapital'. It was what I'd been looking for. It was like a very religious man opening the Bible for the first time."
  • Question on the Verona transcripts

I'm reading Ann Coulter's Treason, and my curiosity has been piqued by the Verona Transcripts. I've read that only a tiny percentage of them were decoded. Is there any ongoing effort to decode them? Why haven't the full text of the messages come from the KGB archives opened after the fall of the USSR?

NEWARK, N.J. Oct. 28 — Essex County's top elected official, who dropped out of the U.S. Senate race this year amid a federal investigation, was arrested by FBI agents Monday on corruption charges. The charges against County Executive James Treffinger include extortion, mail fraud, conspiracy and making false statements to the Federal Election Commission, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Perry A. Carbone. Extortion carries the heaviest penalty, up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Treffinger will plead not guilty, said his lawyer, Henry Klingeman. Full story see source
