The head of the Russian church, Patriarch Kirill gave a powerful, patriotic sermon on Sunday during celebrations to her most important Saint, St. Sergius of Radonezh. The main thrust of the sermon was that God has always delivered Russia during conflicts with her enemies because Russia always turned to God at these times, even during WW2, when Russia was officially atheist.
