The mother of former Auburn running back Tre Mason told Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies last month that head injuries her 22-year old son sustained playing football has given him a "10-year-old's mindset." Tina Mason believes CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy, has caused her son's erratic behavior. CTE is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in athletes with a history of repetitive brain trauma, including concussions. The Palm Beach (Fla.)
