If you live in the type of deeply red state where conservatives have dominated state and local politics for fifty years, you may not understand why Donald Trump has an appeal to so many voters. You may think, “I live in Texas or Arizona or Utah, I am fine, I can sit this one out. Gary Johnson is more my type of candidate anyway.” On behalf of those of us trapped in states where conservatives struggle to get 40 or 45% of the vote: please don’t.
