The Biden administration is warning pharmacies not to discriminate against women who may seek reproductive health prescriptions, including some that might be involved in ending a pregnancy. The Department of Health and Human Services said Wednesday that pharmacies receiving federal money from programs such as Medicare and Medicaid cannot discriminate in how they supply medications or advise patients on prescriptions. The agency noted that discrimination against people based on their pregnancy or related conditions would be a form of sex discrimination. The announcement comes as the administration seeks to ensure reproductive health services for women following last month’s Supreme Court...

More than 65,000 fans packed a stadium in Tampa to watch Tom Brady lead the Buccaneers to a win in the NFL’s season opener, just hours after President Joe Biden announced a sweeping new plan to slow the latest COVID-19 surge. Most people at the open-air stadium Thursday night didn’t wear masks. There was no vaccine requirement for fans, something Biden has urged sports and entertainment venues to impose. If I was not the first media personality to interview Rick, I was one of the first. I had Rick as a guest at the request of my friend, Mark Rogers, who was running Rick’s campaign. Over the years I interviewed Rick at least a dozen times and debated him several times as...

Strong and precise words are required to editorialize on purulent politics and malefic maladministration.

A few years back, the maladministration of Pittsburgh Mayor Tom Murphy cried "Foul!" when we described as "fascistic" its failed policy of command economics that relied so heavily on the high-held shillelagh threatening eminent domain.

A federal judge yesterday lifted most of the federal oversight imposed on the Pittsburgh police force under a 1997 consent decree.

U.S. District Judge Robert Cindrich granted a joint motion filed by the city and the U.S. Justice Department to terminate the decree except for provisions governing the Office of Municipal Investigations, which investigates allegations of police misconduct.
