Just a few years ago California boasted the 5th largest economy in the world. On the heels of that voters in the former Golden State (now the "Tarnished State" according to author Todd Fitchette) fired their governor (Gray Davis) and hired an actor to be governor. It turns out, like in his on-screen parts, this actor has little substance. He's overseen California's demise, though much of that credit rests squarely upon the California Legislature, which over the years has continually spent more money than they've taken in, then to "solve" this inequity, have continued to raise taxes until the taxpayers...
