This week on Fox News, host Neil Cavuto blasted President Donald Trump‘s criticism of the network in a monologue dubbed “Common Sense” that he delivered on Thursday. Cavuto claims that the president makes clear that “to fact check him is to be all but dead to him” and that “my job is to cover you, not fawn over you.” The host of the right-leaning network seemed to have had enough of Trump’s backsliding every time the network reports on something negative. “First of all, Mr. President, we don’t work for you.” he declared. “I don’t work for you.”

Minutes after concluding a meeting with President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) told reporters outside the White House that there would be no negotiations with Republicans until the House passes a “clean” continuing resolution which ends the government shutdown. Reid began by saying that the government must reopen and the debt ceiling must be raised. “We, if that happens, will negotiate on anything. Anything,” he said. A CNN pundit who has advocated nuclear containment of Iran and expressed antipathy towards American democracy is said to be on the short list for a top diplomatic post in a second Obama administration—perhaps even secretary of State. That is raising red flags across Capitol Hill and within foreign policy circles. Fareed Zakaria hosts CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS,” a weekly program focusing on international issues and American foreign policy. Zakaria is also an editor-at-large for Time magazine and a columnist for the Washington Post, where he regularly praises the president’s policies. Zakaria has gone to great lengths to ingratiate himself...

Off to Phoenix, but before leaving I absorbed Professor Bainbridge's latest, that compares me unfavorably to Eleanor Roosevelt. Perhaps I should not have been so encouraging in his blogging? But the Professor of the Vines is hardly alone. "Shill," "toady," "kool-aid drinker," and — yes — W's "Joe Conason" — the unkindest cut of all — have all been attributed to me by colleagues on the center-right. Actually, there are even worse descriptions, but I maintain a PG blog. Fine, all around. Let fly, friends, you owe me nothing except your candid opinions. But you might owe the president more....

CBS News legend Dan Rather was one of the few people to get his hands on an advance copy of the hotly awaited and tightly guarded 975-page memoir My Life, by former President Bill Clinton. So what’s the verdict, Mr. Rather? "Maybe he didn’t come totally, absolutely clean with himself, but he made an effort to do it," he said, "an effort it would be difficult to find with any former President." Did Mr. Rather like the book? "I liked it more than I thought I would," he said, "more than I was prepared to like it. Who knew that...

Janet Reno's Votescam NewsMax.com Sept. 14, 2002 Janet Reno is not accepting the Florida vote count that gave the Democratic primary election to attorney Bill McBride. Reno is now arguing that vote fraud and other irregularities helped her opponent win, and she says that just four of 81 disputed precincts turned up 1,818 uncounted votes. If she can shave just a few thousand votes off McBride's lead, she would be eligible for an immediate state-wide recount. If she goes ahead, bet on fresh votes for Reno turning up. Reno is no stranger to vote fraud. A former state's attorney for...
