Millions of acres of farmland across the country are privately owned, but a small share of it is foreign-owned land sitting idle in many areas. That’s according to new U.S. Department of Agriculture data which shows just how much of the nation’s agricultural land is owned by other countries. The USDA‘s online portal reveals that more than 45 million acres of land are owned by foreign countries, with an original purchase value of over $38 billion. Our neighbor to the north, Canada, has the most agricultural acreage in the United States, at 15.35 million acres. John Hewlett, a farm and...

A Silicon Valley investor and board member at VF Corporation reportedly said last year that Black Lives Matter are "the true racists," according to a leaked email obtained by Axios. "I don't believe in Black Lives Matter," Veronica Wu reportedly said in the email. "If anything I think they are the true racists trying to stir up things to make this country going to socialism or even communism potentially," Axios reports. At the time of the email, Wu was a managing partner at Hone Capital, a US venture branch of China Science and Merchants Investment Management Group. Her email comments...

Bob Dole pitched Viagra. Al Gore grew a goofy goatee and taught college. So what's Sen. John Kerry to do to shake off his loosing White House bid? Well, the folks at L.L. Bean, Timberland, or Woolrich would probably love to have him pitching their coats. That's because Kerry's campaign fashion trademark, his wheat-colored Timberland barn coat, has caused a spike in sales of the jackets. "It does seem to be getting a big lift," says Woolrich marketing director Tim Joseph. Barn coat sales typically drop off when winter arrives, but not this year. "We are somewhat inclined to attribute...
  • Corporate favoritism in Kerry sponsored Senate bills

I've done a little bit of research into John Kerry's Senate votes, and specifically legislation that he sponsored as a Massachusetts Senator. I'd appreciate any input or further information from any fellow Freeper researchers. I've found some interesting bills sponsored by Kerry, that all have connections to either Massachusetts businesses or his wife's Heinz Foods. All of these bills relate to import duties, and to differing degrees they all had the potential impact (if enacted as law) to give kickbacks to corporations in Massachusetts (and a certain ketchup maker in Pittsburgh). 107th Congress (2001-2002) S.2869 - "A bill to facilitate...
