I know I'm going to be flamed and elections are still a year and a half away but the momentum seems to be favoring Hilary as the next POTUS. The sooner Republicans and conservatives accept the fact President Bush and the congressional Republicans have so enraged their base and independents that the Democratic Party will gain even stronger control over the congress and will take back the White House in the 2008 elections. What is to blame for the collapse of the Republican dominance over the US? Corruption, arrogant refusal to heed the wishes of the public (especially on immigration...

I'm sick and dang tired of these arrivals making a mess and costing municipalties money. For instance here's a story here about the mess they make. And another about having to expel them from their homes. People are so miffed there's even a referece to shooting them in that article. And here is a muncipality that has to hire a contractor just tokeep them from occupying the local beach. The point is, there is no way to secure the border so we need to formulate a plan to deal with getting ride of those who mess it up for all the others.

I am reading a book called 'Word Freak' about professional scrabble players. And what did I stumble upon ? If you rearrange the letters in 'President Clinton of the USA' , you get 'To copulate, he finds interns' [comma added] Talk about subliminal messages !
  • Sirius Satellite Radio announces 4 million subscribers reached

Sirius has announced 4 million subscribers, and I haven't heard a word from the Howard Stern detractors. Even if he's only responsible for half of the increase since he signed on (600,000 then) and it stays where it is, that's worth more than a billion dollars over five years. That $500 million is a good investment.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Truck driver John Withers admits he cried like a little girl when his dog ran away. So the Georgia man didn't hesitate to make the 1,000 drive to Oconto County, Wis., when he heard his beloved pet had been found eight months later. He said he didn't cry but he was very happy when he was reunited with Sir Charles Nugget, a 4-year-old chow mix. Nugget ran away last summer when Withers was making a delivery in Lena, Wis. Since then, plenty of people spotted the dog and left food for it but no one could...

Now for something completey different. OK, who was the greatest chess player ever...?? My personal vote goes to the nineteenth century's Paul Morphy. No other champion dominated his contemporaries the way Morphy dominated his peers.

BILL GATES' 11 RULES THAT STUDENTS DO NOT LEARN IN SCHOOL In Bill Gates' new book (Business @ The Speed of Thought), he lays out 11 rules that students do not learn in high school or college, but should. He argues that our feel-good, politically-correct teachings have created a generation of kids with no concept of reality who are set up for failure in the real world. RULE 1 - Life is not fair; get used to it. RULE 2 - The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good...

THERE OUGHTA BE A LAW O'Reilly's law of the kitchen: Cleanliness is next to impossible. Lieberman's law: Everybody lies, but it doesn't matter since nobody listens. Denniston's law: Virtue is its own punishment. Gold's law: If the shoe fits, its ugly. Conway's law: In any organization, there will always be one person who knows what is going on. This person should be fired. Finster's law: A closed mouth gathers no feet. Lynch's law: When the going gets tough, everyone leaves. Muir's law: When we try to separate anything out by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the...

Fortunately I did not have to think too hard about this one. It's just that some of you may be surprised by my choice, as it is someone you may not expect....It all started on June 2, 2004. A software engineer from Salt Lake City named Ken Jennings became the new Jeopardy! champion. He would defend this title 74 consecutive times, only to be defeated on the episode that aired on November 30. At first, when he began his run, Ken was just an okay guy to me. That turned into frustration as he continued to win, and I desired...
