Here in Louisiana Saturday, the Democrats won another important and hotly contested race, mainly because African-American churches supported the Democratic candidate. The well-funded conservative campaign waged by Republican U.S. Senate candidate Suzie Terrell could not overcome the illegal use of black churches by the incumbent Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu. Landrieu learned how to use these ministers and their church assets just as nearly every Democrat has done when running for office over the last 40 years. Landrieu won 52% to 48%, an impressive showing, given the fact that a very popular Republican President and his party pulled out all...

<p>She was an odds-on favorite to win in the first balloting until she began a precipitous fall about 10 days before the primary. Tim Russert was interviewed on CNBC's Capitol Report tonight. He's scheduled to moderate a debate with Landrieu and Terrell this Sunday. He said that a big reason Daschle folded on the Homeland Security Dept. was to try to help Landrieu. He also announced that Bush will visit Louisiana shortly after Thanksgiving when the WH thinks people in the state will really start to focus on the race. He also gave Landrieu no better than a 50% chance to win the race.

Suzie Terrell will face the incumbent Democrat Mary Landrieu (sp?) in a runoff for the U.S. Senate seat in Louisiana on Dec. 7th. According to Hugh Hewitt http://www.hughhewitt.com the new campaign finance laws DO NOT APPLY TO THIS RACE!!! This race will immediately become a Democrat soft money party in an effort to deny the Republicans the opportunity of padding their new lead in the Senate. We must help Suzie in whatever way we can. Her website http://www.suzieterrell.com does not accept online donations (yet) but you can call (225)218-8683 or donate by mail to: Suzanne Haik Terrell for U.S. Senate...

Mike Foster is considering becoming a late entry into this fall's U.S. Senate race, the chairman of the state Republican Party said Tuesday. Republican Party Chairwoman Pat Brister said she talked to Foster after hearing rumors that the two-term Republican governor could join a field of GOPers trying to oust Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu. "He confirmed he is thinking about it," Brister said. "Several people have called him and asked him to consider it." Foster, who must leave the...
