Aereo could kill TV business model, broadcasters sayBy Andrew Feinberg - 05/11/12 01:22 PM ET Barry Diller's upstart Aereo service, which lets paying customers record and watch over-the-air television stations online, could destroy the economic model behind television, an NBC-Universal exec said in a court filing. Aereo is being sued by all of the major television broadcasters in federal court in New York, where the service was launched. In a sworn declaration, NBC-Universal executive vice president for content distribution Matt Bond said Aereo could alter how cable and satellite companies handle traditional TV stations. He said Aereo could let the...

Because I know that FReepers are smart and ingenious I am coming to you for assistance and insight in being able to get unplugged from DirecTV. They are raising our rates again. We currently use Netflix, but are also considering adding HuluPlus. Hubby streams from his PS3 in his game room, and in the living room we stream via BlueRay. Hubby and I are trying to get details on unplugging without losing our ability to watch our favorite (cable) show. I've read numerous articles how people are doing this same thing but have not found a step-by-step instruction in what...

I am looking to talk to anyone who is or has tried to subscribe to GBTV with Wildblue satellite internet connection? Is it fast enough for on demand viewing? I am unable to get cable or DSL at my location. My Sprint modem has usage limitations so I cannot watch GBTV with it. My only alternative is satellite --- but I don't know if it can handle it. If anyone has any knowledge that could help, please do. Thanks.

My wife just received the following email... Dear xxxxxxx, It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs. This means no change: one website, one account, one password…in other words, no Qwikster. While the July price change was necessary, we are now done with price changes. The email goes on to advertise what neat things they now offer, etc. etc. Looks like the feedback from the general public caused someone high up in the ranks at Netflix...

I've read here on FR, that there are fans of this show, so I thought I'd give a heads up that Netflix now has seasons 1 through 5 up for streaming. Any opinions of the show would be of interest to me..should I bother or does 5the show ctash and burn at some point?

It's a poll on a website you may want to save in your favorite places for streaming radio. My first observation - the United States isn't listed. Go with Chad?

I know that a lot of fellow FReepers stream Netflix. What are your suggestions for movies that may not have received the attention or respect that they deserved? What are you those gems that are worth watching again? How about that obscure movie that you tell people they should watch? Bonus points for links, pics or video of the movie you are talking about. I'll start; Firefly - The complete series. Nothing like a good old fashioned cowboys in space series. Excellent cast, tight writing and a fan demanded ending. Highly recommended. Zombieland Guns, zombies and jokes. What more can...

Rough day for NFL fans. First, a ruling gives the league and owners much better positioning at the bargaining table by ruling that the lockout insurance is legit, and now two popular online video streaming sites have been seized by the U.S. Government. Channelsurfing.net and Atdhe.net were sites that linked to broadcasts of NFL games and plenty of other television shows. I'm not sure if this applies to Atdhe.net or not, but Channelsurfing.net did not actually host copyrighted material, it embedded from other sites that did so. Yes, both of these sites operate in a gray area of broadcasting copyright...

US authorities have seized the domain of the hugely popular sports streaming and P2P download site Rojadirecta. The site, which is one of the most visited sites on the Internet, lost its .org domain which now redirects to a notice from DOJ/ICE. Rojadirecta is an unusual target because two courts in Spain have ruled that the site operates legally, and other than the .org domain the site has no links to the US.

Aren't there any *live* conservative radio stations on the net to listen to, after the news channels go into repeats?

PCTV has not worked for 2 days. And neither do any of the other popular links that worked before (e.g., Zaphedia). Can you test a working feed before responding? Much thanks in advance. Sneakyuser

Hi all, Just wanted to clear a few things up- someone posted a thread about watching our Fox News live stream at the Underground and said that you needed REALPlayer to view the stream..well you don't. There are three streams available for Fox News..and only one of them requires REALPlayer. There are links on the page to the other streams which are flash streams. The whole reason I created the website was because of the lack of good quality streams currently out there..that way if one of the streams on the Underground goes dead, you have immediate access to one...

HI GUYS I POSTED A QUESTION BEFORE ABOUT WHERE TO SEE FOX NEWS ONLINE SINCE THEY TAKE IT OFF THE OTHER SITE. I HAVE FOUND A VERY GOOD PLACE TO SEE IT. OK SO HERE IS THE GUYS POST THANKS. If you’re like the thousands of other folks around the world who relied on sites like TikiLive and BlinkoTV to watch Fox News live online- you were probably a little ticked off the day you turned your computer on to watch your favorite Fox News program.. only to see the stream was no longer available. At the Underground, there are...

is there a way to watch Fox News on the internet?
-
I wasn't sure under which topic this thread should go.. In a previous post here on FR, I gave a link to a page on my personal website/blog where I had embedded some live streaming of Fox News. I decided to do it after Blinkotv did away with FNC. So many people relied on that service to watch FNC..Lately a lot of folks have been forced to cut their cable or satellite subscriptions due to the current financial mess we're in. To make a very long story short, I had an experience with some not-so-friendly folks who decided to check...

Guys, after Blinko stopped broadcasting FOX NEWS and until we find a better solution, I've embedded some streams on my site and would like to know if it works with various operating systems/browsers. There are no ads on the site- I'm not doing it for money just trying to help out because so many people had to cut their cable off with the economy so bad and they relied on Blinko for Fox News. I have three streams embedded..two of them Fox News and one for Fox Business. One of the streams require REAL player and the other is a...
