FRANKFORT, Ky. - Steve Nunn said nothing in court. His glum, unshaven face spoke volumes. The politician who had lived a life of privilege hobnobbing with Kentucky's political elite wasn't at all pleased with the Fayette County jail where he is being held on a murder charge for allegedly gunning down his ex-girlfriend. Nunn, heir to one of the most famous names in Kentucky politics, wore a drab prison jumpsuit and a frown as his lawyer entered a not guilty plea on his behalf and asked for his release on bond.

<p>GLASGOW, Ky. — After a trip home that retraced the steps of his life and a final ringing endorsement of his style and service, former Gov. Louie Nunn was remembered yesterday as the last of Kentucky's great personal politicians — and one of its more willful.</p>

<p>FRANKFORT, Ky. - The state capital said goodbye to Louie B. Nunn yesterday, remembering the former governor as a tenacious and courageous politician, as a demanding and inspiring boss, and as a tender and tough father.</p> <p>"Our father, to me, was the John Wayne of Kentucky politics - always doing what he thought was right, never afraid to take a stand," Nunn's son, state Rep. Steve Nunn, said at a Capitol rotunda service for his father, who died Thursday.</p>

Lunsford had 19 percent and House Speaker Jody Richards 14 percent.</p>

The Kentucky Supreme Court ruled Wednesday Republican Ernie Fletcher can remain on the May primary ballot. Candidate Steve Nunn's running mate -- Bob Heleringer -- challenged the legality of Fletcher's candidacy, saying the ticket was invalid when Fletcher picked an ineligible running mate, Hunter Bates. A judge ruled Bates did not meet residency requirements. But other judges ruled the Fletcher candidacy was still legal. The Kentucky Supreme Court decision Wednesday affirms those rulings. In addition to Nunn, Fletcher faces former Jefferson County judge-executive Rebecca Jackson and State Senator Virgil Moore in the May 20th primary.

GOP Governor candidate in Kentucky, State Representative Steve Nunn will make is official Thursday, December 19th. He will have a state-wide sweep through key battle ground areas to announce his bid for Governor. He will also announce his pick to be his running mate. Inside speculation is that it will be Louisville State Representative Bob Heleringer.
