The body found near the Memphis crime scene late Sunday has been identified as missing teacher and young mother Eliza Fletcher, the Memphis Police Department confirmed. Fletcher was abducted while she was running near the University of Memphis early Friday morning. Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Cleotha Abston, 38, on Saturday after matching his DNA to a pair of sandals found near the scene. Abston was charged Tuesday morning with first-degree murder, in addition to his previous charges, records show.

Three women were robbed and at times assaulted in separate incidents over the course of 25 minutes in Chicago’s Lakeview, police said Friday. The startling string of Thursday incidents comes on the heels of a four-robbery pattern in the neighborhoods of Lakeview and Lincoln Park, according to CWB Chicago, which was the first to report the news. A 30-minute video of the attack on a man in Portland late Sunday was released Wednesday, showing a large crowd taunting, beating and robbing a transgender woman before setting its sights on the truck driver and another woman. The footage, which contains graphic images and explicit language, was released on YouTube by "Lives Matter" producer Drew Hernandez. The video appears to show a group of people, including suspect Marquise Love, 25, taunting a transgender woman who they claim was spraying Mace at them. Ashley Mason, 31, was charged on Wednesday for her involvement in the death of Desmond Joshua, who had recently started working at a Burger King in Orlando. The Aug. 1 shooting followed an argument involving the Burger King’s manager, Joshua and a woman, whom police officials later identified as Mason. Police said Mason had allegedly grown irate over the long wait time at the fast-food restaurant’s drive-thru, where she ordered $33.11 worth of food.
