Shares have increased by 95% in the last year and are up more than 70% already in 2013. That makes Cabela’s stock the best-performing in the firearms industry and one of the top-performing stocks in the U.S. in the last year. The company’s two biggest shareholders, founders Richard and James Cabela, have seen the value of their combined 25% stake jump to $1.2 billion from $750 million at the start of 2013. About one-third of Cabela’s $3.1 billion in sales last year came from firearms, ammunition and accessories, and a substantial amount of its all-important sales growth came from its...

Sources inside the Senate tell me that the Republican Conference is scared to death of the tactics of Senators Lee, Cruz and Paul – that it is supposedly putting them in a tough spot. Several of the Republicans are using the Manchin-Toomey compromise plan as an excuse to cave on the gun filibuster. They claim that Senators Lee, Cruz, and Paul are running ahead of the conference in their insistence on a filibuster. What they fail to see is that the cloture vote is the vote to stop the gun legislation from passage. Several Republican Senators intend to vote against...

A Message from President Obama about Your Petition on Reducing Gun Violence In the days since the tragedy in Newtown, Americans from all over the country have called for action to deter mass shootings and reduce gun violence. Hundreds of thousands of you have signed petitions on We the People. I'm writing you today to thank you for speaking up, to update you on an important development, and to encourage you to continue engaging with the White House on this critical issue. First, you should know that President Obama is paying close to attention to the public response to this...

Without spending a lot of time going into the details, read this teaser from Fox News. 3 DEMOCRATS have decided to REVISIT Internet Regulations that were abandoned in 1992. Do I hear "net neutrality" and press restrictions coming soon? Only the REPUBLICANS opposed the action. Part of the Obama / Chavez plan to restrict dissent on the takeover by the hardcore left. Are you ready? This is just the beginning... http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704289504575312742566475122.html?mod=WSJ_hpp_MIDDLETopStories How long before Free Republic will have to close its doors?

The city sued 12 gun dealers in five states for allegedly selling weapons that were traced to crimes committed in New York. The New York City Police Department has traced more than 300 confiscated guns sold by these dealers between 1994 and 2002, said Mayor Michael Bloomberg in announcing the lawsuit. The dealers are located in Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. The lawsuit is part of the mayor's pledge to crack down on gun dealers whose weapons wind up being used to commit crimes in New York. In May, he sued 15 dealers in an effort to get...
