Hillary Clinton campaigned Saturday with gun-control advocates Gabby Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly, trying to draw a contrast between her push for stricter laws with rival Bernie Sanders' record.

President Barack Obama announced he will not endorse or campaign on behalf of any Democratic candidates who refuse to endorse new gun control measures in a New York Times op-ed published Thursday night. "I will not campaign for, vote for or support any candidate, even in my own party, who does not support common-sense gun reform," Obama wrote in the editorial. "And if the 90 percent of Americans who do support common-sense gun reforms join me, we will elect the leadership we deserve."

To win the Nevada caucuses, A Republican candidate should: 1. Announce that the United States Attorney for Oregon, along with all Assistant U. S. Attorneys who participated in the prosecution of Oregon ranchers Dwight and Steven Hammond, will be fired on the first day you're in office. 2. Likewise on the first day, declare that the five-year criminal sentences of the Hammonds will be commuted to time served. 3. Vow that, if elected, a top legislative priority will be legislation that abolishes the Bureau of Land Management and gives title to the 248 million acres it administers to the states...

Conservative Republican Senate candidate Dr. Kelli Ward seeks to liberate Arizonans and America from entrenched faux Republican Sen. John McCain. If you're like me, your heart cries out for GOP candidates who are who they say they are: morally straight people who will do what they say they will do when elected. That's the bottom line, folks. People (candidates) make all kind of promises when they want something from you (your vote). GOP voters hunger for conservative candidates who are real. Dr. Kelli Ward is a cool, refreshing drink of water in the desert, a ray of sunshine – a...

The often ostentatious Donald Trump irritates Democrats, the liberal media, and the establishment Republicans for many reasons. They cannot understand how his popularity soars in the polls no matter what he says and what they do to unseat him, or what dirt, real or imagined, they try to dig up. Donald Trump is a populist and a nationalist. He loves his country and does not like the path that the current administration and its supporters on both sides of the aisle have chosen for 320 million Americans, even though at least half have vociferously expressed their desires, to seemingly deaf...

Ideology: Socialist senator and presidential candidate Bernie Sanders tweets that Americans shouldn't have to work overtime to feed their families. In so doing, he shows why tweeting without thinking is a bad idea. Last week, Sanders, the self-identified socialist who is running for president as — quite appropriately — a Democrat, took to Twitter to say that "in the richest country in the history of the world, people shouldn't have to be working 50 or 60 hours a week to put food on the table." Just who does he suppose is putting in the time?

Though presidential candidates' Twitter feeds have been littered with calls for prayers after the multiple mass shootings these past few weeks, it's anyone's guess as to whether Republicans will finally talk about gun control in substance come Tuesday's debate. The conservative candidates have been notorious for skirting the topic, choosing to back their NRA interests over rigorous debate. But with the Planned Parenthood and San Bernardino shootings happening within just days of one another, will the Republican candidates finally take aim at gun control? Their past record of doing so has been weak.

Even though her approach alienates many gun owners. Seven years ago, when Hillary Clinton was fighting a grueling Democratic primary battle against then-Sen. Barack Obama, she boasted of duck hunting and championed the Second Amendment. Clinton’s campaign in Indiana sent around negative mailers pasted with rifles, accusing Obama of being weak on gun rights. She talked of learning to shoot a gun as a child.

Matt Bevin’s 53 percent to 44 percent victory tonight marks only the second time in 48 years that Republicans have won the Kentucky governor’s race. But Republicans also made history in another way. Bevin’s lieutenant governor running-mate, Jenean Hampton, is now the first African American elected to statewide office ever in the state’s history.

The debate was everything we expected — and less. Nobody was willing to take on Clinton’s biggest weaknesses, and so Hillary didn’t have to get down in the dirt with the plebes — where she would have lost. Anderson Cooper had his thumb on the scale for Clinton like Candy Crowley with her entire self on the scale for Obama in 2012. The pundits can claim “X had a good night because of Y,” but none of that matters because nobody drew blood on Clinton. She’ll take a hit in Iowa, get creamed in New Hampshire — then come back...

The more I look around, the less I’m interested in anything involving the political process. In this, I’m not alone. A 2014 article by Michael Snyder entitled “12 Numbers Which Prove That Americans Are Sick And Tired Of Politics As Usual,” he notes: “The American people are increasingly waking up to the fact that nothing ever seems to change in Washington, D.C., no matter which political party is in power. In fact, as you will see later on in this article, an all-time high 53 percent of all Americans believe that neither party ‘represents the American people.’”..... .....Which, you might...

Recently, I asked my 87-year-old dad: "Was it a dream, or did you and Mom allow a man dressed like a woman to run through our home and out the back door?" Dad replied, "Wow! How on Earth could you possibly remember that?" I was a toddler then, now in my sixties. Dad said the man was being chased by the police, and my mom felt sorry for him. Today, transvestites are celebrated, awarded for courage. And yet, more Americans than ever view themselves as victims. A caller on a radio show said people are fed up with both sides...

CNN anchors on Wednesday night hit two Republican presidential candidates on the subject of gun control, wondering if yesterday's horrific shooting in Roanoke, Virginia has prompted them to rethink their positions. Talking to Ben Carson, Don Lemon demanded, "After you watch a crime like this, does it make you question at all the role of guns in our society?" Carson reminded, "The Second Amendment of that Constitution gives citizens the right to keep and bare arms. Therefore, anything that we're going to do has to be done with respect to the Second Amendment." The Republican mentioned the opportunity to do...

The history of this nation is written in the blood and courage of men who stood in the face of overwhelming odds – politicians, soldiers, statesmen and ordinary citizens who sought to do the right thing regardless of the cost or the consequences. Well, ladies and gentlemen of the United States Congress, it seems that that particular pen has run out of ink. The courageous politicians that once championed this nation have been replaced, for the most part, by a breed of milksop, politically correct, scared of their own shadow, pushover, pathetic excuses for public servants who are supposed to...

I’ve made it clear that I would not trust Ben Carson with the keys to the Oval Office, and I am now of the opinion I wouldn’t trust him with the keys to a Cabinet post, either. (See “Dr. Ben Carson for president: Not so fast,” Feb. 6, 2014.) Carson is a without question one of the most gifted doctors in the history of medicine – but beyond that, he is either naïve, clueless, or he secretly supports an agenda or aspects thereof that have contributed to the racial divide in America. And as you will see, his disagreeable heterodoxy...

Republican Sens. Orrin Hatch (Utah) and Dean Heller (Nev.) are throwing their support behind former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush ahead of an event in Reno, Nev., on Wednesday. "Our nation is at a crossroads. It is in dire need of a proven leader. That leader is Jeb Bush,” Heller said in a statement to the Reno Gazette-Journal. “The nation needs the pragmatic, conservative, principled leadership that only Jeb provides. And Jeb understands why Nevada is important when appealing to the majority of American voters."

The congressman who infamously said during the Obamacare debate that Republicans wanted sick people to “die quickly” now says Planned Parenthood defunding proponents will shepherd in a new wave of deaths. If the attempt to destroy #PlannedParenthood is successful, the result is that many women will suffer and die. #flsen http://t.co/rQTmYmOan4 — Rep. Alan Grayson (@AlanGrayson) August 9, 2015 Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.), who is running for the Senate seat Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) is vacating to run for president, linked an article about his criticism of Florida Gov. Rick Scott and healthcare regulators for investigating 16 Planned Parenthood clinics in...

"I think for a variety of reasons, Hillary Clinton has been under all kinds of attack for many, many years," Sanders said during an interview with CBS's "Face the Nation." "In fact, I can't think of many personalities who have been attacked for more reasons than Hillary Clinton. And, by the way, let me be frank — and I'm running against her: Some of it is sexist."

Conservatives seem to be split in their opinions. Some think he’s a goofball, a blowhard and an idiot. Others view him as a serious contender unafraid to tackle the proverbial herd of elephants in the room. So why is “The Donald” resonating with folks in Flyover Country? Simple. We elected a majority of Republicans in Congress in 2014; and what did they do? They betrayed our trust and our wishes, and immediately caved to the president’s progressive agenda. We didn’t like that. Republicans have a lot to answer for to the people. They promised to “get tough” on a variety...
