The evening of February 27, 2008, in the Miami area, Gabriel Mobley and a friend were viciously attacked by two men. Senator Joe Manchin was on FOX News today to discuss his proposed gun control legislation. He admitted his bill will not prevent another Newtown massacre, “This is not a universal background check. This is a criminal and mental background check at gun shows and internet sales. It does not infringe on your right as a family… It protects the rights of our veterans… They (families of Newtown shooting victims) even recognized that this legislation we’re working on, which is the background checks on criminal and mental illness would not have saved their little babies."

After 15 burglaries over three months, a California hardware store owner took the law into his own hands by catching the men he suspects of robbing him saying, 'This is my property; I’m going to defend it.' Fed up after losing thousands of dollars worth of gardening equipment and spending money on surveillance cameras and new fencing, Darin Fowler decided the only option was a stake-out. So on Friday night, Fowler waited up until the early hours of the morning and at 3.30 a.m. pulled his gun on the two unsuspecting men he caught taking equipment out of the store...

Fortunately I sold all the B of A stock I had in Mid 2007 prior to the collapse. I never bought their stock but the shares I had in a small well managed regional bank Barnett was bought out by Nations and when they and B of A merged I ended up with that awful company. Read the May 14, 2012 , Article in Rolling Stone magazine by Matt Taibbi: "too crooked to fail" if you have the time or inclination. This travesty below is not a one off or just politically correct decision - they are inept and corrupt...

R. 822, which was approved by the U. S. House last November by a vote of 272-154. S. 2188, like H.R. 822, would allow any person with a valid state-issued concealed firearm permit to carry a concealed handgun in any other state that issues concealed firearm permits, or that does not prohibit the carrying of concealed firearms for lawful purposes. The Palm Beach Post vividly illustrated its anti-Second Amendment, anti-gun bias in its latest article documenting the attempts by the Palm Beach County Commission to illegally regulate gun rights by refusing all comments on the Aug. 16 article, "County Commission: new state gun law could create 'Wild West' Palm Beach." Putting aside the inflammatory headline (I've written a few of those myself), the story isn't bad, and both sides of the issue are represented. So why did The Post use the "User comments are not being accepted on this article" dodge usually reserved for reports on criminals of certain favored...

This leaves Illinois as the only state without any legal concealed carry legislation, and a few states that need seriously improved laws(New York, New Jersey, California, Hawaii, and a couple of others). The GOP-controlled Assembly approved the bill on a bipartisan vote of 68-27. The Senate backed the bill last week on a 25-8 vote, and the measure now goes to Walker, who supports it, for his signature. Wisconsin would become the 49th state to legalize the carrying of concealed guns. The legislation would require those who want to carry concealed firearms to obtain permits. It would allow people to...

It may not come as surprising news to many of you that the United Nations doesn’t approve of our Second Amendment. Not one bit. And they very much hope to do something about it with help from some powerful American friends. Under the guise of a proposed global “Small Arms Treaty” premised to fight “terrorism”, “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates” you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms. While the terms have yet to be made public, if passed by the U.N....
