The concept of America First embodies the American people’s aspirational goals to see policies that primarily benefit them, especially in an era when it feels as if they are being overshadowed by special-interest groups, corporate lobbyists and foreign agendas. It’s undoubtedly linked with President Donald Trump, but the question remains for the 2024 election: Can this idea thrive with someone else’s leadership?

Almost 4 months after the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the war turned into an "artillery duel". And victories in battles are increasingly being won by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A significant role in this is played by the supply of Western weapons, which are gaining momentum, but are still insufficient. Der Spiegel writes about this in an analytical article. "At the beginning of the offensive, when Russian troops began to advance in large columns from the north to major Ukrainian cities such as Kiev and Kharkiv, the goal was to lure the enemy into ambushes,...

Russian conscripts are being given 19th century rifles, made to drink from ponds filled with dead frogs and ordered to draw enemy fire, they have revealed. Soldiers in the Russian-backed Donbas region have spoken of how they have been sent to fight Ukraine's forces with no training, a lack of food and water, and inadequate equipment - as Moscow's armies continue to suffer heavy losses. -snip- The Donbas armed forces are fighting alongside Russian soldiers but are not part of the Russian armed forces, which have different rules about which troops they send into combat. Several Donbas draftees have been...

LONDON — Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the green light on Friday to bring in thousands of fighters from the Middle East to fight against Ukraine. At a meeting of Russia’s Security Council, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said there were 16,000 volunteers in the Middle East who were ready to come to fight with Russian-backed forces in the breakaway Donbass region of eastern Ukraine.

Russian anger against Vladimir Putin is growing as frustrated shoppers are faced with empty shelves and thousands are arrested in antiwar protests. The Kremlin is desperately trying to crack down on any dissent to the brutal invasion of Ukraine and a total of 13,500 demonstrators have now been arrested since the war was waged. Anti-Putin sentiment is also hitting the high street with consumers told to limit the number of items in their shopping baskets as sanctions start to bite. -snip- There are suggestions that some groceries are already being rationed by Vladimir Putin who is anticipating a prolonged period...

After a Russian artillery battalion was destroyed while attempting to circle Kharkiv and a Russian fighter jet was shot down over Kyiv, people began to characterise Russia’s invasion as a quote “failed Blitzkrieg.”I had a realisation.Russia is using nearly 100 year old Deep operationstrategies developed by the Soviet military theorist Vladimir Triandafillov. The strategy is the exact opposite of American and British doctrine of superiority and overwhelming firepower. There are only two main movement differences between the USSR’s reconquest of Ukraine in 1943 and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022:an amphibious invasion force from the South.a more westwardly attack, looping around...

In the “Empire Strike Back,” Yoda admonishes Luke Skywalker for spending his life dreaming of the future, “never his mind on where he was … what he was doing.” But at 68, George Lucas, the creator of the “Star Wars” saga, seems to be doing much thinking about the years ahead – in fact, experts say, his decision to sell his company to Disney DIS +1.36% was an estate planning move worthy of a Jedi Master. Disney will buy LucasFilm for $4.05 billion in cash and stock, the two companies announced Tuesday. By cashing out now, experts say the filmmaker...

Michael Savage, the incendiary radio host who last week characterized nearly every autistic child as “a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out,” said in a telephone interview Monday morning that he stood by his remarks and had no intention of apologizing to those advocates and parents who have called for his firing over the matter. “My main point remains true,” Mr. Savage, whose radio audience ranks in size behind only those of Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, said in an interview on Monday. “It is an overdiagnosed medical condition. In my readings, there is no definitive...

Even Ted Kennedy's political enemies spoke kindly of him when they learned that he had a malignant brain tumor. But not conservative talk show host Michael Savage. As a form of "respect" to Kennedy on his syndicated talk show Tuesday, Savage played The Dead Kennedy's "California Uber Alles" - get it? Ho ho, the wit! Oh, and he dropped in a couple of "Kindergarten Cop" sound clips of the Arnold Schwarzenegger character saying, "It's not a tumor." Listen to it here, if you must. Then quickly bathe. Mike, Mike, Mike, one word, baby: Karma. It never forgets. Then again, Savage's...

Bearing petitions and prayers, about 70 people gathered Sunday to protest the “hateful utterances” of national radio personality Michael Savage, whose talk show is carried locally by KCMO 710-AM. Representatives from several faiths, including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Sikhism, were meeting for the first time as the Interfaith Coalition Against Bigotry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The group has collected hundreds of signatures on petitions protesting Savage’s statements last fall, “which included a call to deport Muslims from the United States without due process of law,” the group said. “We have become sometimes saddened and sometimes angered by...

Michael Savage, the occasionally loud, usually offensive radio personality who is deliberately ignored by every major media outlet in America, is the sort of person you’d be better off knowing about. Originally Michael Alan Weiner, he grew up in the Bronx. He currently lives in San Francisco, or as he sometimes refers to it, “San FranFreako.” But his thick, Italian New York accent, coupled with his love of Italian food and his certainty about everything he sets his mind to, make his roots as evident as ever.

WASHINGTON – It's no longer just a charge of copyright violation in the case of Michael Savage v. Council on American-Islamic Relations. Now the radio talk star is going for the legal jugular in his battle with the group that bills itself as a Muslim civil rights organization. The San Francisco-based talker has amended his lawsuit against CAIR for misusing audio clips of his show as part of a boycott campaign against his three-hour daily program to include charges the group "has consistently sought to silence opponents of violent terror through economic blackmail, frivolous but costly lawsuits, threats of lawsuits...

NASHUA – Speaking to about 40 BAE Systems workers in what he called a "town hall meeting," Republican presidential candidate Duncan Hunter again blasted an opponent because his former company is doing business with a Chinese defense contractor. Hunter, a U.S. congressman from California, called on Bain Capital, a company founded by former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, another GOP presidential contender, to drop its strategic partnership with Chinese defense contractor Huawei Technologies in a bid to buy U.S. defense contractor 3Com. Hunter will also ask Romney to use his influence with Bain to end the proposed merger between Huawei and...
