A Florida man was bitten in the arm by an alligator Thursday while washing his hands in a pond, according to the City of Sanibel. Fortunately, the man was able to break free from the alligator and call 911. People on the scene of the attack applied a tourniquet until EMS workers arrived, officials said in a statement. He sustained a serious injury on his right arm and was transported to the hospital for treatment, according to officials. Vice President Pence is headed to Florida for a personal trip as President Trump refuses to concede the election several days after Joe Biden was projected to be the president-elect. Pence will leave Tuesday for Sanibel, an island near Fort Meyers, where he has vacationed before. A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) advisory indicated the vice president would be there through Saturday. Spokespeople for Pence did not respond to requests for comment about whether the vacation was planned prior to the election. A man in Southwest Florida has quite a fish story to tell! Jon Black from the Crazy Lure Tackle shop in Cape Coral caught what he says is "the largest bottom fish ever from a kayak" in Sanibel, Fla. The YouTube post says the fish measured at 83 inches long and more than 73 inches in girth. They estimate it weighed 552 pounds. Not a bad haul from a kayak with a small fishing pole!

SANIBEL, Fla. - Two men are accused of performing sex acts in the waters of Sanibel Beach with kids just few feet away. 23-year-old Pawel Drozda and 24-year-old Tyler Kneeskern are facing lewd and lascivious acts and indecent exposure. Several witnesses, including two teenaged kids, say the two were see running naked on the beach and then seen performing sex acts in the water. The two were reportedly drunk. Both are out of jail on bond tonight.

A Florida television station is reporting that former Congressman Joseph McDade has been accused of exposing himself in public. Prosecutors in Florida charge that McDade exposed himself on Sanibel Island in Florida. The 76-year-old McDade has been ordered to appear in court. No other information is available on the incident.
