The husband of San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White said Monday that he was recanting his accusation that Hayes-White had struck him on the head with a glass, according to police and the chief's attorney. Sean White had called 911 Sunday evening to accuse his wife of hitting him, police spokesman Sgt. Neville Gittens said. Investigators said a pint glass was involved and that the incident happened at the couple's home near Stonestown mall.
