LYONS — Talk about getting more than he bargained for. A Rochester man who tried to rob two Lyons residents at gunpoint with a BB pistol Wednesday night ended up getting injured — and later arrested by Wayne County sheriff’s deputies — when one of the residents put up a fight. Muhaimin Muhammed, 48, was charged with two counts of second-degree attempted robbery, second-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree burglary. The man shot and killed by a former CNN journalist at an Albuquerque motel was reportedly identified by police Thursday night. Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Tanner Tixier said Tomorio Walton, 27, was involved in the shooting, the Albuquerque Journal reports. Walton was on parole in Memphis, Tennessee before fleeing police. Officials are unsure how long Walton was in the city for. Former CNN anchor Lynne Russell said her husband Chuck de Caro, and Walton exchanged gunfire after the man entered their room at a Motel 6 on Albuquerque’s western edge and demanded jewelry.

On January 11, a robbery suspect put a gun to the head of a DeKalb County, Georgia pizza delivery woman, ordered her to the ground, and got shot in the face when the woman pulled her own gun in self-defense. According to Channel 2 Action News, police found the suspect–24-year-old Donquaz Devon Stevenson–“nearby with a gunshot wound to his face.” He “was arrested and charged with armed robbery.”

KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent (CMC) – A 24-year-old man, who was on bail for robbing an insurance worker in January, has been shot and killed, police said. They said Kwesi Ryan died in his mother’s arms after he was shot several times by a masked assailant early Monday. Roanoke City Police are still investigating a shooting that happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night. It happened at the Paradise Deli Mart near the corner of Orange Avenue and 18th Street. Police tell WSLS the shooting happened after an attempted robbery. The store clerk told police that he saw the man pull a weapon, but was able to shoot him in self defense. No word right now where the man was shot, but he was able to run about fifty yards away where police apprehended him in a nearby alley.

A police broadcast indicated that Thursday night, two men armed with handguns were reported to be involved in an armed robbery at a home in the 12300 block of W. 3rd Street in Grandview. The two suspects fled the scene in a black Toyota 4-Runner SUV. Initial reports indicated one of the two suspects may have been shot in the arm by the victim in the robbery.

Police say Demarcus Brandon was armed with a handgun, and tried to rob a cell phone store in the 1700 block of East 87th Street Tuesday night. The store’s owner who also had a handgun himself shot and killed him.

According to community members the two men tried to rob a man who turned out to be licenced firearm holder. They were caught by surprise when the victim turned his gun on them shooting one of the robbers multiple times.

The other suspect then started grabbing money from the cash register. As the suspects were leaving the business, a round was fired into the display cabinet. Near the door, police say that the suspect tried to fire off another round into the ceiling, only to have the gun fall apart. Parts and live rounds from the gun fell to the floor, and the suspects ran from the store. Police say the two ran off in an unknown direction.

A West Side man accused of stealing a pizza at gunpoint was tracked down by the phone number he used to order the football-shaped pie, police and prosecutors said. Jamokae Smith, 22, allegedly held the two people delivering his pizza at gunpoint on Nov. 9 in the 5000 block of West Wabansia Avenue in the North Austin neighborhood. As the delivery workers approached the home, prosecutors said, Smith emerged from a nearby gangway and pointed a gun at them while another robber ran off with the pizza and $13 cash.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An off-duty reserve deputy from Louisiana shot and wounded a suspected robber in north Houston overnight. (snip) Authorities say the deputy pulled out his gun and shot the robber in the neck. His condition is unknown at this time. The deputy and his brother left the scene and called 911.
