The war on the English language from gender-neutrality advocates has reached new lows in Washington state, where the governor signed a new piece of legislation dictating that the terms “fisherman,” “freshman,” and “penmanship” all be replaced because of alleged sexism. “Fisherman” will now be “fisher”; “freshman” will now be “first-year student”; “penmanship” will now be “handwriting.”

Hillary Rodham Clinton can’t have it both ways either she is the best candidate for the job or she is an affirmative action under-qualified woman who is attempting to exploit the fact that she is a poor little defenseless woman who needs the help of “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” or the “Divine Secrets of the Yaya Sisterhood to win the Presidency of the United States of America.

I have reflected a great deal over the years about the need for dialogue and unity among various minority and progressive communities. The presidential primary process is underway, and this is the time when the candidates within the Democratic party work to differentiate themselves from one other.
