It should be noted that about 100,000 Kurds were murdered by this regime, and that, even six years after its fall, the bodies of thousands of murdered civilians remain undiscovered. In Najaf alone, 48 mass graves have been found. Source: Al-Sharq Al-Awsat (London), May 17, 2009. Posted at: 2009-05-17

Governor Palin of Alaska, a strong pro-life advocate, weighed in on the issue: “My favorite grandpa, Clem James Sheeran, was Catholic. Irish to the core, his favorite place (other than church) was Notre Dame. I can’t imagine what he would think as the university recognizes someone who contradicts the core values of the Catholic faith by promoting an anti-life agenda. As we learned today, our nation is more pro-life than ever before; it is a very important time to strengthen the message that every baby is created for good purpose and has the potential to make this world a better...

Scott Sanford May 14th, 2009 | Arab media, Lebanon SNIPPET: "Falluja Forum contributor Abu al-Ghadiyah recently posted an article titled “Transformations of ‘Usbat al-Ansar” that the Lebanese paper al-Akhbar published in March. The article was part of a larger series of reports that journalist Hasan ‘Aliq wrote regarding the political and security climate in Lebanon’s largest Palestinian refugee camp Ain al-Hilweh. He argues that the Islamist position is growing stronger in the camp due to changes in their attitudes towards the Lebanese state. However, Fatah attempts to check the Islamists’ growing influence have resulted in bloodshed and instability." SNIPPET: "Lebanon’s...

More Fake Millennial Studies by: Bethany Stotts, May 15, 2009 Having a progressive institution such as the Center for American Progress (CAP) produce a study that doesn’t show Millennials, ages 18 to 29, to be largely progressive would defeat the researchers’ goals. Thus, it is not surprising that two new studies released by CAP argue that Millennials are the most progressive generation yet. But if the first study, The Political Ideology of the Millennial Generation, is any indication, going progressive in America means, well...center-left leanings at most. “Based on responses to 40 ideological statements grouped in four areas...we calculated an...

As employers make Google searches a routine part of the hiring process, college newspapers are seeing an increase in the number of alumni looking to have their names removed from articles they wrote or were quoted in during their college years. The Chronicle of Higher Education reports that a growing number of papers are being drawn into controversy about whether to grant alumni requests to rewrite a paper's historical record because certain articles or comments could make finding a job difficult or because they could create difficulties and conflicts of interest in the future. The trend is just one of...

In January of 2007 Tara Connor, the 2006 Miss USA winner, was under a firestorm of allegations. After she was titled Miss USA, Connor was witnessed “clubbing” around NYC. Then were rumors of drug use (in all fairness, unsubstantiated). Finally, it was also alleged by witnesses that Miss USA was partying with Miss Teen USA, and under age drinker. Drug abuse and kissing was also alleged. Link However, Mr. Trump search deep into his heart and found forgiveness for Ms. Connor. "I've always been a believer in second chances," SAID Trump. Link Now we all believe in second chances. We...

Note: The following blog entry is a quote: Blog Details Saudi Arabia: We Prevented An Attack On Saudi Embassy In Stockholm The Saudi ambassador to Sweden has said that an attempt to set the Saudi Embassy in Stockholm on fire yesterday was part of a plan to attack it, not a random incident as the police first stated. He said that embassy security personnel noticed an unfamiliar, Arab-looking bearded man pouring gasoline on the building's entrance, and then trying to start a car parked nearby; they apprehended him and handed him over to police. Coming Soon To A 'Hood Near You: Gitmo (Ex?)Terrorists By James Gordon Meek How would you like your family’s next-door neighbor to be a former Guantanamo Bay inmate who was trained in a military camp in pre-9/11 Afghanistan? Would it matter if they were declared no longer to be an “enemy combatant” by the Pentagon? That’s the fundamental question that ought to be going through the minds of Northern Virginia residents this week, amid news reports - including my own New York Daily News exclusive today - that a group from Gitmo may soon be making house in the D.C....

SPLiCing the Facts by: Bethany Stotts, May 08, 2009 The mainstream media should reevaluate where it gets its source material on hate crimes, and soon. In my article, “Right-Wing Extremism Explored,” I wrote that the oft-criticized Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report was “influenced by the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).” David E. Smith, Executive Director of the Illinois Family Institute (IFI), asked this correspondent what role the SPLC played in such profiling, since his own organization was listed as a “hate group” by the SPLC for being “anti-gay.” While the SPLC may be embraced by mainstream media outlets...

But here's this from the Washington Times: "President Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the next morning. It's my humble opinion but I think a little prayer would do us all some good. Our nation is in trouble. I don't care what side of the political fence you're on, we're in trouble. And all those that would scream "separation of church and state" and bellow about bringing God into politics would do well to sit back and read Reagan's words. George...

Iranian President Ahmadinejad took a road trip to Syria yesterday for meetings with President Assad to consult about upcoming meetings with US representatives. The two countries wanted to show that their alliance was strong as ever and US efforts to try and separate the two will not be successful. At a joint press conference with the Syrian President, Ahmadinejad boasted that “those who one day called Iran and Syria part of the axis of evil now want to develop relations with Iran and Syria. Circumstances are changing rapidly in our favor,We are on the road to victory."

Yesterday on the opening day of the AIPAC convention Newt Gingrich brilliantly laid out the case of what is wrong with American foreign policy. He spares no punches against either the Obama administration, or the Bush one for that matter. Gingrich goes way beyond what he said in the Jpost interview on Sunday: In 1909, virtually nobody in England would have believed the British Empire was about to disintegrate and the world would never recover from the shattering cost of WW I. In 1939, decent people were trying desperately to avoid the reality of Adolph Hitler. Winston Churchill said WW...

Freedom of speech is one of the most important protections we have against tyranny. The right to speak out and expose corruption and to spread new amazing ideas. Of course the left doesn't like that one bit. Over the past decades, government has eroded our first amendment with the Federal Communications commision which dictates what we can or cannot listen to. The FCC and its many regulations and licensing fees prevent the creation of new radio and TV stations that would otherwise produce alternative views and regulates what we can or cannot watch. A dangerous prelude to totalitarianism. Enter the...
