Islam means peace. Islam means peace. Islam means ... well, also this: DRAMATIC footage has emerged of a fight outside a Preston mosque. The Sunday Herald Sun understands the dispute was sparked over the banning of Sheik Abdou Eid. The footage showed a large crowd of men pushing and shoving outside the mosque on Friday. ... Vicious infighting threatens to tear apart the congregation of one of Melbourne's largest mosques, amid claims that millions of dollars of donations have disappeared and accusations that a sheikh had behaved inappropriately with women. The conflict came to a head last week when Sheikh...

One of my favorite tweeters for the other side is RabblePro-Choice. She’s like a wild-eyed pro-abort terrier. Last week Rabble went after pro-lifer marylikesbagles, who had posted the following video with the invitation, “Everyone who believes in abortion should watch this video. It’s only 30 seconds anyways.” Apparently Rabble thought all the hyperbolic use of pro-”choice” euphemisms in the video is really the way the world should be. I’m not sure Rabble even understood the point of the video, which is that if an offspring of the species homosapien is wanted she’s called a “baby” and if unwanted she’s called...

[snip] "What if the invasion forces will not leave our lands?" al-Sadr asked in the statement, which was read at the protest by his aide, Salah al-Obeidi. "What if the U.S. forces and others stay in our beloved lands? What if their companies and embassy headquarters will continue to exist with the American flags hoisted on them? Will you be silent? Will you overlook this?" "No, no America! No, no America!" the crowd shouted in reply. [snip]

The Reverend Jackson by: Jenni Vinson Trejo September 1, 2006 In 2001, the scandal storm cloud that hovered over Washington DC rained on the Reverend Jesse Jackson and for once, he was one who got soaked. First, there was the disclosure that he fathered a child with a subordinate from the Rainbow Coalition. That was, in and of itself, quite startling. Jesse Jackson has set himself up as a moral leader not just for the black Community, but for America. He has preached to us the immorality of a variety of issues as they pertain to white America’s interaction with...

Rep. Tom Delay (R-Texas) has been a vocal critic of the American judicial system and became extremely outspoken when the U.S. and Florida courts were refusing to intervene to save the life of Terry Schiavo. The storyline in last week’s episode of Law and Order: Criminal Intent dealt with the murder of a federal judge, a not unheard of occurrence in the United States. One of the police officers in the show said, "Maybe we should put out an APB for somebody in a Tom Delay T-shirt". Delay was understandably upset and wrote a letter criticizing the show to NBC....

Liberty depends upon a strong foundation According to conventional wisdom, lawmakers should always abide by the will of the majority — as reflected by public opinion polls. Never mind that the polls are often designed to elicit a particular response, or that only a mere handful are polled, or that the public is grossly uninformed. Never mind that a government based on public opinion polls would make Congress superfluous. A nation of lawmakers does not need to elect congressmen to rubber-stamp its collective dictates; it needs only a bureaucracy to put those dictates into effect. At present the head of...

US Democratic Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, who had hoped to replace George W. Bush as president yesterday, instead sat in the cold and clapped as the Republican began a second four-year term. Iowa Democratic Senator Tom Harkin patted Senator Kerry on the back shortly before the inauguration Senator Kerry had hoped would be his. As Mr Bush delivered his inaugural address, Senator Kerry, about 10m away on the steps of the US Capitol, joined other lawmakers and the crowd in repeated applause. Senator Kerry looked relaxed, at times wistful. He frequently smiled, able to hide any disappointment over what...

Rabble rousers, heading for Ottawa to boo Bush in a fever pitch, should be handed a world map. They are touting their November 30-December 1 mass protest against Bush’s state visit to Canada as "his first international trip since his re-election." Latin America’s Chile and Colombia are countries where a re-elected Bush was visiting when activists were getting ready to converge on Ottawa. "Emergency" meetings have been called, paint pots and cardboard being dragged out as Artists Against War, the Toronto Coalition to Stop the War and the Canadian Peace Alliance prepare for mass anti-Bush rallies on Parliament Hill. "Bush...
