Duke Medical School claims it is “white supremacy culture” to expect people of color to be on time in a strategic plan for creating an “anti-racist workforce.” The medical school said its goal is to “catalyze anti-racist practice through education” in a 2021 plan titled “Dismantling Racism and Advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in the School of Medicine.” The guide — praised by the school’s dean — called out what it deemed “white supremacy culture,” with its purported nitpicking about being on time, dress code, speech and work style. EDISON - A recent survey has found that New Jersey residents show up late to work more often than employees in any other state. The report by Mattress Clarity surveyed over 2,700 American employees about being late to work and found that the average New Jersey worker loses 7.9 minutes per week to lateness. Mattress Clarity says that the lateness costs employers $122 per employee, per year in revenue – a total of $500 million. Clemson University’s ‘diversity education and training” teaches employees that every “cultural perspective regarding time” is equally valid, so it’s wrong to expect people to be prompt. Clemson is spending $26,945 on “diversity education and training” for its faculty members. […] In one slide, employees are taught that tardiness is acceptable because the concept of time is culturally relative. Thus, every culture’s perception of the actual time must be respected — since one “cultural perspective regarding time is neither more nor less valid than any other.” …

Punctuality is something many people struggle with - especially in an age where technology has made it easier than ever to let people know you might be late. However tardy timekeepers may be glad to know over in Mexico, turning up half an hour late is entirely acceptable, and in Morocco you can be anything from an hour to a day late without anyone batting an eyelid. But those keen to adhere to scheduled times needn't panic as Japan and Germany are sticklers for punctuality with the latter even requiring you to be early for meetings, a new infographic reveals.
