The Muslim teenager from Texas who was arrested for bringing his home-made clock to school was a “weird little kid” that could have a future in crime, one of his former teachers said, according to the Daily Mail. In 2013, a seven year old student was suspended from school for chewing a pop-tart in the vague shape of a gun.   The story struck a nerve, and made national news.    Glen Harlan Reynolds, in a USA Today article, noted that students were suspended for even more ridiculous "offenses".  From usatoday.com: Meanwhile, a 5-year-old girl was charged with "terroristic threats" for talking about her pink toy gun that shoots . . . bubbles. An investigation has found that an elementary school principal in Baltimore who suspended a seven-year-old boy for chewing a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun acted properly in her decision. However the boy's family has lawyered up, and are threatening to take the case further.
