Chris Peden, candidate for U.S. Congressional District 14, spoke at a Katy Area Republicans meeting Tuesday evening. Incumbent Ron Paul was unable to attend because he is on the presidential campaign trail. District 14 runs along the Texas coast, southwest of Houston, taking in portions of Fort Bend County. Peden is mayor pro-tem of Friendswood where, he says, he led the fight for the city's first-ever municipal tax refund, returning more than $1 million to taxpayers.
