03/10/06 Staff reports A Floyd County woman arrested on charges of molesting a 15-year-old girl is a Cave Spring Elementary kindergarten teacher, Floyd County Board of Education spokesperson Tim Hensley confirmed. Janet Rene Kraus, 38, of 1726 Wilkerson Road was charged with child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes for an incident that occurred in February, according to Floyd police and jail records. Hensley said that while she is still an employee of the school system at this point, Kraus is not in the classroom.

A local teacher is in trouble with the law, accused of exposing himself to several young girls. He's the son of a well known university regent. He was arrested Friday on a long list of charges. This started with several sleep-overs at the apartment of long time teacher, 46 year old Christopher Schofield. Police say some his daughter's friends would stay the night and many told investigators Schofield did some inappropriate things.
