Speculation has run rampant about whether Hillary Clinton may run for president in 2028 after a speaking event was announced in coming weeks. Both Bill and Hillary Clinton are scheduled to speak in the coming weeks at the 20th anniversary of the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Arkansas - which includes the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum. The event, planned for the afternoon on December 7, will include remarks from the powerful couple regarding their past political and philanthropic work. This plane passed over my house today. It flew low and looks like an old time plane. I'm thinking it has something to do with Pearl Harbor Day? I heard it as it passed over, flying pretty low. Had an old time motor sound and so I ran out to see what kind of plane it was, bringing my camera as I did. Snapped the shot as it was flying over my neighbors yard. Wish I had caught it over my own yard, would've been a better shot. Anyway going to ask if anyone out there recognizes this type of...
  • WashPost Readers Outraged That the Post Had 'Not One Line in the Paper'

On the “Free For All” page in Saturday’s Washington Post devoted to letters to the editor, three locals smacked the Post for failing to note the 72nd anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks on December 7. None of the letters as printed made the point that the Post has “flooded the zone” with lots of coverage and special sections this year for the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s March on Washington and then the JFK assassination. So what about the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor in 2011? What did that draw? No zone-flooding. No special sections. No articles in...
  • ON THE 70th ANNIVERSARY OF PEARL HARBOR – AMERICANS CAN’T REMEMBER WHAT THEY DON’T KNOW

“Remember Pearl Harbor” was the Second World War’s most enduring slogan – sported on buttons, blazoned across billboards and blared from the radio in one of the era’s popular songs. (“Let’s remember Pearl Harbor as we go to meet the foe. Let’s remember Pearl Harbor as we did the Alamo.”) Remember Pearl Harbor? Remember the Alamo? Remember the Maine, Plymouth Rock and the Golden Rule? But how can you remember what you never knew? Americans are tragically ignorant of our past. The deficit in historical knowledge is at least as ominous as the national debt. Sheep have no memory –...
