Sunday, April 25, 2010 Rating change: GOP projected to win Murtha's seat With the Pennsylvania preview comes one more projected GOP takeover. On May 18th, a special election will be held to fill the seat vacated by John Murtha's unexpected passing. The pundits call it a toss-up, but polls give Republican Tim Burns an slight edge over Democrat Mark Critz. As a result, the race moves to a Weak GOP Gain. I'm looking forward to seeing if the momentum displayed in Massachusetts in January will still be going strong in May in southwestern Pennsylvania. This change brings the projected House...

The democrats are pulling all the stops to win the PA12 special election on May 18th. PA12 background, this district is very interesting. Even though there are more democrat voters than republicans, however there are more conservatives and moderates than a very few liberals. The people here are older and just used to voting democrat. With this said, Pelosi and Obama have low approval rating, even among democrats. Plus, the health care bill is very unpopular here. If interested you can see more poll results here Moving on, Critz who is in a very tight spot as a democrat this year,...

A Public Policy Polling survey released Tuesday showed businessman Tim Burns with a 3-point lead over Murtha aide Mark Critz,, 44 percent to 41 percent. And in a polling memo paid for by the conservative American Action Network and conducted by GOP pollster McLaughlin and Associates, Critz and Burns are in a statistical tie, 40 percent to 39 percent. LATROBE – On paper, the nine counties meandering across Western Pennsylvania to form the 12th Congressional District numerically favor Democrats by a nice margin. In reality, people who live, work and pray here could not be more removed from the Democratic Party ruling out of Washington. More rural/suburban than urban/suburban, it is chock-full of conservative Democrats who believe in hard work, God and guns. It is a world that elite liberals fail to understand, as one Democratic strategist confessed in an e-mail: “Have to admit that America is about as foreign as France to me.” On May 18, ex-congressional aide...

Lt. Col. Bill Russell is running for the the congressional seat of the 12th District of Pennsylvania, left open by the sudden death of Jack Murtha. In an interview with AT Military Editor Alan Fraser, Col. Russell discusses the U.S. military in American culture and how, in the GWOT, the enemy is using our own cultural institutions as weapons in an attempt to defeat us, with the Haditha fraud as a prime example.

The death of longtime Pennsylvania Rep. John Murtha (D) this afternoon will set off a special election in his very competitive western Pennsylvania 12th district. According to state law, the governor has ten days once the vacancy is officially declared to decide on the date for the special election, which can come no sooner than 60 days following that proclamation. That likely means the special election will be held on May 18, which is the date already set for federal primaries around the state. (Special elections costs the state huge sums of money and it's likely that Gov. Ed Rendell...

Pork over Principle. The Johnstown Tribune-Democrat, truly living up to its name, has once again thrown its scruples (if it had any to begin with) under the bus to try to resuscitate Jihad Jack Murtha's sorry political career. After falsely labeling William Trower Russell as a "carpetbagger," the two-bit call-girls on the editorial board of the Tribune go on to say, • He is virtually a one-issue candidate, repeatedly attacking Murtha on his comments concerning Marines in Haditha, Iraq.Yeah, I know... it's no biggie that Jack Murtha put 8 Marines and their families in a state of living hell for...

"Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it"-William Pitt the Younger, The Earl of Chatham and British Prime Minister from 1766 to 1778 Nowhere does this phrase ring with more clarity and truth than in PA-12, and in no heart more so than the soul-less Jack P. Murtha. After making this post, I took the liberty to telephone Lt. Col. (ret) William T. Russell and get his take on the slimy she-nanigans afoot to remove him from the ballot to challenge the perennial political boss of PA-12. What I found was no less than...
