WARSAW, Poland -- Do unarmed protestors who risk their lives to replace murderous and corrupt regimes with law-based, liberal democracies deserve our support or not? For simple folk like you and me, this is not one of life's more demanding ethical conundrums. But then again, you and I are no match for some of the great brains at Britain's Guardian newspaper, who -- along with like minded members of the international left -- are currently mounting something approaching a hate campaign against the brave men and women fighting for democracy in Ukraine, and indeed against their predecessors across eastern Europe...

Three young people with prestigious, accomplished academic backgrounds are suspected in at least two brutal, connected killings. Maximilian Snyder, 22, and Teresa Youngblut, 21, sought a marriage license in Washington State in November. They have each been charged by authorities in separate January killings that claimed the lives of a Border Patrol agent in Vermont and an 82-year-old landlord in Vallejo, according to police and court records obtained by Open Vallejo, a California news outlet. Maximilian Snyder, a 22-year-old data scientist arrested in Northern California on Friday on suspicion of murder, and Teresa Youngblut, the 21-year-old computer science student charged...

When Attorney General William Barr stated "spying did occur" against the 2016 Trump campaign, most attention was focused on the FBI's surveillance of former junior foreign policy aide Carter Page. But the spying Barr was thinking of, and which he said may or may not have been legally authorized, is more likely to be that carried out by Stefan Halper, a former Republican operative and White House aide who became a foreign policy academic with close ties to both American and British intelligence. One could be forgiven for believing Halper was a creation of the spy novelist John Le Carré....

The British journalist Jonathan Sacerdoti has done the public a tremendous favor by releasing the video of his remarks at the recent Oxford Union debate on Israel and genocide. Oxford also released the video, but there’s a minor difference: In the Oxford version, available on their official YouTube page, the sound is cut at key moments.Therein lies a tale perhaps as illuminating as the debate itself. The esteemed Oxford Union held one of its famous debates on whether Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Arguing against the proposition were Sacerdoti, Israeli-Arab commentator Yoseph Haddad, the attorney Natasha Hausdorff, and the ex-Hamas...

An Oxford University student killed himself after becoming a victim of “pervasive cancel culture” over an unproven allegation made by his ex, a UK court has heard. The body of 20-year-old Alexander Rogers was pulled from the River Thames on Jan. 15 — just days after his friends and classmates stopped speaking to him when his former partner aired the unknown allegation, This Is Oxfordshire reported. The unspecified allegation was not reported to authorities or the school, but resulted in Rogers being “ostracized” as part of a “pile-on” effect, a court hearing into his death was told. Dr. Dominique Thompson,...

Discoveries made during excavations in Oxford have confirmed the original defensive perimeter of the then Anglo-Saxon town.An area around Oriel College was investigated by Oxford Archaeology during refurbishment works on its bar and kitchens.Experts found the remains of a ditch, indicating where the defences originally stood, confirming that Oxford in about 900AD was much smaller than the medieval town it went on to become...Excavations outside the Bodleian Library in 1899 previously revealed a section of wall thought to be the original town's north-eastern corner...Oxford Archaeology said it gave "credibility" to theories that the early fortified Oxford was smaller and had...

The Oxford Board of Health approved an outdoor curfew after the town reported its first human case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) this year. Curfew could impact fall sports The Board of Health met Wednesday evening to recommend ending outdoor activities before dusk to avoid peak mosquito hours, despite residents' protests. "Being heard is our No. 1 goal," said Oxford Webster Football and Cheer Vice President Josh Ziemski, before the meeting. This is outstanding. Nancy Pelosi waltzes into Oxford Union Debate and gets a populist spanking from Winston Marshall. Nancy interrupts several times.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was rebuked as an "elite" during a recent Oxford Union debate, where she argued that populism in the United States is a threat to democracy. Pelosi — a self-described "devout" Catholic — said during the April 25 debate that certain Americans, whom she considered to be "poor souls who are looking for some answers," refuse to accept the answers Democrats give them on particular topics due to their beliefs about "guns, gays, [and] God." Challenging Pelosi's position in the debate about populism, Winston Marshall, a musician who was once a part of Mumford and...

New Delhi -- Months after admitting in a UK court that its COVID-19 vaccine, which is being sold as Covishield in India, may have a potential rare blood clot side effect known as Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS), pharma giant AstraZeneca has recalled the jab made in collaboration with Oxford University. The British-Swedish multinational pharmaceutical company faces lawsuits from more than 50 alleged victims and their families who claim fatalities or permanent brain injuries following vaccination during Covid pandemic. The company's COVID-19 vaccine is being sold as Vaxzevria in Europe. AstraZeneca had in February this year admitted in the court...

London -- A team of scientists from the world’s leading universities have developed a new all-in-one vaccine that they hope can protect humans against a broad range of coronaviruses, including ones that are yet to emerge. The research published in ‘Nature Nanotechnology’ on Monday is based on a new approach to vaccine development called “proactive vaccinology”, where scientists build a vaccine before the disease-causing pathogen even emerges, which has shown promising results in mice. The study by the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge in the UK and Caltech in the US says the vaccine works by training the body’s immune...

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's address to the Oxford Union in the UK was interrupted by a pair of pro-Palestine demonstrators, days after she said such protests have a 'Russian tinge' to them. The California Democrat was giving an address to the debating society in Oxford as the protestors walked just in front of her podium and silently held up Palestinian flags, until being escorted out by security. Outside the building some 250 demonstrators chanted 'free Palestine' and 'end the genocide.'

The keynote speaker of the World Economic Forum’s 2024 annual conference in Davos was Ursula von der Leyen, European Commission President. She stated the top global risk for the EU is disinformation and misinformation, declaring disinformation destroys trust and limits the ability to “tackle the big global challenges.” In plain English, trust can only be restored by censoring inconvenient facts and evidence. Below is a short clip (1:39) highlighting her disinformation sermon. The top risk in the WEF’s 2024 Global Risk Report is disinformation. If not controlled, societies will be polarized, elections will be disrupted, and there will be mistrust...

Ben Shapiro recently appeared at Oxford University and gave a masterclass on how to handle the talking points being used to ultimately prop up Hamas, wittingly or not, by those claiming to support the Palestinian position. In one striking exchange, a woman in a hijab stepped up to the podium to read off a list of accusations about what Israel has supposedly done in its attempt to take out Hamas. She quickly found that she had painted herself into a corner, though. This was a pretty epic exchange with @benshapiro at the Oxford Union."If Israel put down its guns tomorrow there would...

Woe to the person who tries to go up against Ben Shapiro in a public debate. You may get an A for courage, but you kind of get an F for lack of sound judgment. Shapiro is famous for obliterating ill-informed and ill-prepared opponents in public forums, and he will take on all comers. Last night was no different. At Oxford University, Shapiro was speaking at the Oxford Union (an event that, like most university appearances by Shapiro, was protested because the esteemed students at Oxford are triggered by free speech) and spoke about several topics, but obviously, the war...

One woman’s apparent lack of financial literacy went viral online after she sent an itemized bill to Morgan Wallen of what she spent on a concert he cancelled Sunday. The post, allegedly from a woman called Mandi Walker Nowlin, was first shared on Facebook before going viral on Twitter. In it, she tagged the country music superstar, saying “Morgan Wallen, since you’re offering refunds….here is our itemized bill for you.” Her comments were prompted by Wallen’s requirement to cancel his show in Oxford, Mississippi, Sunday, as he’d lost his voice and was unable to perform. Now, I’ve heard and seen...
