At least one person was killed and six others injured in a shooting at Pennsylvania’s Lincoln University Saturday night, during the historically Black university’s Homecoming weekend, according to officials.
A total of seven people were hit with gunfire outside the school’s International Cultural Center, authorities told reporters at news conference early Sunday.
“We’re devastated to announce tonight that one person has died, six other people have been struck by gunfire,” Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said at the conference, without detailing the conditions of the injured.
One person who was carrying a gun has been detained, the district attorney said, noting investigators are still piecing together information.
“We don’t have a lot of answers about exactly what happened,” he said, noting it is possible there were multiple shooters.
A motive has yet to be determined, but de Barrena-Sarobe said the shooting does not appear to be a case “where someone came in with the design to inflict mass damage on a college campus.”
Local, state and federal law enforcement are investigating, the district attorney’s office said in a statement, asking anyone with knowledge of the shooting to contact the FBI.
Several people were treated at the scene after being knocked to the ground and trampled as those in the crowd ran for cover, de Barrena-Sarobe said.

Sounds like a hit. Up close and personal. Or someone got “disrespected”.

SUPPORT THE BLACK COLLEGES: “A MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE”
Ferals gonna feral...
Never heard of it so I looked it up…”Welcome to Lincoln University, the nation’s first degree-granting Historically Black College and University.”
…can these people do any activity without shooting each other? Breakfast? haircut? Bowling?
It’s their culture. You can’t criticize their culture!
Ha, ha, ha. A bullet is a terrible thing to waste.
Remember when homecomings were just plain fun and silliness?
Now it is an opportunity to eliminate people.
Maybe the title of the event should be called “Homing in on coming” instead of Homecoming.
Give them back their spears instead of guns. Limit the collateral damage.

Nothing to see here.
What generally happens at the parties after the homecoming game at our local historically black college, FAMU is this. There’s a large gathering of celebrating blacks. It’s always people who weren’t invited who do the shootings. They are drug dealers. They see a rival drug dealer and feel their territory is at risk. They then shoot, but it’s called “display” behavior. It’s like cats puffing up to look bigger. I’m not aware of a single instance where the shooters hit each other. But bullets in a crowded room are likely to hit someone.
The number one problem with black culture is that someone in the family or friend structure is a drug user, dealer or involved in crime. This brings people who are not involved and don’t want to be involved into contact with people who will involve them even as innocent bystanders.
There were several middle-class black families in my former neighborhood. In two cases the families took in a male relative fresh out of prison. One of them was a B&E guy who spent the days robbing homes in the small neighborhood. The other raped his underage niece.
As a friend mentioned, it’s not that this or that guy is a bad person. It’s who they associate with.
Excellent idea.
I doubt it.
Sad but true.
That’s the sad bitter truth.
It truly saddens me to say that I knew it was a HBCU before I got to the Lincoln part of the sentence.
Chris Rock address that at the one minute mark: YouTube.
Travon was studying for a major in Crime.
Naw, they’re just blowing off steam and having some fun. Literally, this is how they do it.
